Megan Fox Urged To Set Better Green Example
Green campaigners have urged Megan Fox to reduce her carbon footprint, after confessing she leaves all the lights on in her house because she's afraid of the dark.

The Transformers beauty, 23, admitted last week that she insists on keeping her home well-lit to avoid returning to a dark, empty place.

She said, "I've been afraid of the dark my whole life. If I go into my house at night and the lights have been turned off... I have to run from the door to the light switch to turn it on... I'm just afraid of what I can't see."

But Fox's comments have prompted campaigners at non-profit ...

TV Shows On The Verge Of Jumping The Shark

July 15th, 2009 11:23am EDT
24
The concept of 'jumping the shark' is a fatal one for many involved in television. It all began in the tragic episode of 'Happy Days' in which iconic character, The Fonz, literally jumps over a shark, thus placing a death toll on the rest of the series. Decades later, some TV writers have playfully used the term in decidedly ironic tones, both 'The X-Files' and 'Supernatural' have episodes titled 'Jump the Shark' (Note: a portion of 'Supernatural's' crew are 'X-Files' alum) that tiptoe the line of throwing a series into oblivion.

We will have a few current TV shows that we believe ar...

The losers are shows that destroyed the integrity of beloved characters and were generally poorly written and conceived.

Look! I'm A TV Star!

People used to believe in fictional television. They didn't believe that it was real, simply that it was an honest fabrication of reality, a mild funhouse reflecting life as it is lived. They watched whether they could identify with it or not; they watched to imagine the lives they saw on the screen. Some still do. But others, a growing majority, watch reality television; they take comfort in the truthful depictions, no, profiles of the lives of others. These shows cannot be melodramatic, cannot be dismissed as over-the-top like Grey's Anatomy. They are "real."

"Beverley Hills, 90210" premiered when I was a junior in high school, which made me the exact age the main group of characters were portraying. Not actual age, mind you. Though Gabrielle Carteris' character, Andrea Zuckerman, was my age, Carteris herself was 13 years older. Regardless, I was infatuated. I, too, had started a new school during my high school years. I felt a connection with the Walsh twins, Brandon and Brenda, as they were uprooted from their Minnesota roots and moved to the comparatively posh lifestyle of West Beverly High School.

Now, 18 years later, we have a new gene...
