Originally shown on the Fox Kids Network, Medabots is a Japanese animation program set in the near future, in a time when the popular pastime involves battling with robots. The protagonist is a young boy named Ikki, who finally gets his own Medabot, only to find that it's more than he bargained for. The robot, called Medabe, has a mind of his own and a strong personality to boot, leading to a slew of adventures for Ikki. Released in 2002, Medabots: Robattle! finds Ikki and Metabee in a bind as they struggle to balance training for the upcoming Robattle tournament with stopping the no-good Rubberobo gang from causing trouble.
