In a case of "the dumb leading the dumber," Jamie's airhead sister, Lisa (Anne Ramsay), takes the Buchmans' doltish dog, Murray, for a walk. A few hours later, Jamie returns with an entirely different dog. Despite the necessity of a 48-hour "window" for missing pooches, the NYPD joins Paul (Paul Reiser), Jamie (Helen Hunt) and practically everyone else on a frantic search for the missing Murray.
