David Walliams Rescues Drowning Dog During Thames River Swim

British comedian David Walliams has been hailed a hero after rescuing a dog from England's River Thames during his marathon swim fundraiser on Saturday.

The Little Britain star is raising money for the Sport Relief charity by swimming 140 miles along the river from Gloucestershire to Big Ben in London.

On Saturday, Walliams turned action man to save a pooch from drowning near Windsor, England.

British funnyman Matt Lucas has taken inspiration from Eddie Murphy and comedic actor Mike Myers for his new Little Britain movie. The funnyman has revealed plans for a film that will see him and comedian pal David Walliams play multiple characters.

Lucas says, "We've got an idea that excites us that we hope will appeal to audiences in lots of different countries. The two of us will play five or six characters that will go around together, so it'll be technically very challenging. British comedy stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams are making an American version of their hit TV sketch Little Britain. The pair will transport existing characters and create new ones for the program, which will air on HBO next year.

Little Britain stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas have struck a deal with showbiz mogul Simon Fuller to take the hit British comedy to America.
