Jonathan Silverman Tackles A Bold Role In Tonight's 'Law & Order
Jonathan Silverman is an immensely likeable actor, and as far as we know, a pretty darn good person in real life, too. Which makes it so deliciously strange that he's playing a rapist in tonight's episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Jonathan joined BFTV on Monday to discuss his SVU character, comic Josh Galloway, and what it's like for him to turn bad.

How did he get the part? "First of all, [SVU showrunner] Warren Leight is a God in my eyes and he knows I would do anything to work with him again. I was lucky enough to be in the West Coast premiere of his wonderful play Glimmer, ...

September 5th, 2013 3:15pm EDT

I documented NBC's woes last week. Other bloggers and critics have documented NBC's woes. The network's like a kid that's get picked on, and then the sweetest mother in the world tries to help that child fit in and feel included. There isn't the sweetest mother blogger. Anyone writing about NBC anywhere is piling on. I'm sort of excited for the day The CW beats NBC. It'll probably never happen.

CHICAGO FIRE returns on Tuesday, September 24 at 10PM

Treat Williams WILL return for season two. There's baby drama for Lauren German's character. Lauren German and Treat Williams are enough for me...

Law & Order: SVU
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit got a shot in the arm last season with its major cast turnover, finishing one chapter and starting a new one. How does the show keep its momentum? By bringing in a pair of top-tier guest stars in Adam Baldwin and Paget Brewster, keeping Dean Winters around, and giving more attention to Dann Florek. It all adds up to the start of an intriguing season for SVU.

Q&A: Meet 'Mike & Molly' Star Nyambi Nyambi

February 27th, 2012 11:00am EST
Nyambi Nyambi
On the CBS sitcom Mike & Molly, he's the sharp-witted Samuel...but don't let the fact that he plays a waiter fool you. Actor Nyambi Nyambi has a lot to say.

"The way I like to say it is I've been an actor all my life, but I never called it acting," the Oklahoma native tells me. "I was always cutting up. I'd make fun of our relatives that would come over. I was always doing the loud Nigerian, the quiet Nigerian. Doing skits from In Living Color [and] random impressions. That was how I liked to be around my family."

It wasn't until his senior year at Bucknell University, when he was giving ...

The singer/actor's father, Harry Connick, Sr. was New Orleans' District Attorney for 30 years.

The proud son says, "This is my first gig that required me to know details about his job. I asked him a lot of questions."

His new TV character, David Haden, plays Law & Order: Special Victims Unit regular Mariska Hargitay's love interest, and he can only hope the character doesn't become a cheater - ...

My 10 Celebrity Valentines For 2012

February 13th, 2012 11:00am EST
Adam Levine
Valentine's Day is almost upon us. I don't have a valentine this year, but I'd like to give a few out to 10 celebs whose work I have particular affection for.

1. Adam Levine

My favorite The Voice coach is someone I'll always admire, and deservedly so: he has more hardware than a Home Depot. This past year alone, he and Maroon 5 scored their first American Music Award, a People's Choice Award and a Grammy nomination. I totally concur with my friend Jesse Blaze Snider, who referred to them as a band "with three near-perfect albums." (And a fourth on the way, reportedly due in June.)

Investigating 'Law & Order: SVU' Star Danny Pino

February 8th, 2012 4:09pm EST
Law & Order: SVU
Law & Order: SVU fans: you landed the best detective working in television.

After seven seasons as a major part of what made Cold Case a cult hit (one that's still talked about two years after its cancellation), Danny Pino has revitalized SVU in its thirteenth season. If anyone could fill the major void left by the departure of series star Christopher Meloni, it was Pino, who created a memorable character of his own in Cold Case's smart and often smart-mouthed Scotty Valens (and stepped in to replace a character on that series as well; current Grey's Anatomy star Justin Chambers had his ...

She insisted they "recklessly and carelessly" failed to provide experienced personnel for the scene.

And earlier ...

Rooney Mara Softens Her Look At New York 'Dragon Tattoo' Premiere

December 15th, 2011 8:39am EST
Rooney Mara
Rooney Mara attended the "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" New York City premiere last night in a wispy black dress with her blunt bangs nowhere in sight. We think she looks sophisticated and less edgy than she did earlier this week at the world premiere in London.

The actress recently opened up about an embarrassing role she played on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" in 2006.

She told Allure magazine, "It was so awful. So stupid. Me and my boyfriend - although I (didn't) look old enough to have a boyfriend - went and beat up these fat people, and at the end of the show you find out th...

We're just taking in this blessing."

Ice-T Gets Out Of Jury Duty Because He's Ice-T

October 11th, 2011 9:45pm EDT
Rapper/actor Ice-T's celebrity status has been deemed a disruption in court - and scored him a jury duty pass.

The "Cop Killer" hitmaker received a summons to serve as a juror in an upcoming Los Angeles legal proceeding but he was dismissed before trial because fans couldn't concentrate when he was in court.

Ice-T says, "I don't like court, period. I'm on a court show, cop show, but in real life, no cops, no courts for Ice... So I went in there because once the courts send you a summons, you don't play with that.

"So I showed up and I did jury duty, well I kinda did jury duty. I went in ...

Fall Review: 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit'

September 21st, 2011 10:00pm EDT
Law & Order: SVU
NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit had a buzzworthy offseason, and tonight we got our first look at what one could term the 'new' SVU. Somewhat.

Headlines were made when star Christopher Meloni departed the long-running crime drama (although one could argue that it wasn't too shocking, as his dozen years of service were much longer than some entire shows go). It was later announced that his costar Mariska Hargitay was scaling back her commitment, and B.D. Wong left for a role on the new NBC series Awake.

With the moves, the rumblings began - with the axing of the mothership, failur...

Q&A: 'Law & Order's' Linus Roache Makes A Welcome Return

September 21st, 2011 10:00am EDT
Linus Roache
Linus Roache was the best district attorney ever to have graced the courtrooms of Law & Order. Tonight he reprises his role as Michael Cutter in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit premiere - but before that, he was gracious enough to talk to me about stepping back into the franchise.

Roache's tenure began in 2008, when he joined the show amidst a significant cast shift. He left his mark immediately, bringing a startling intensity to the role of Cutter, a determined prosecutor whose zeal intimidated defendants and caused him to butt heads with his predecessor, newly minted Distric...

Mad Men looked set to dominate the night, going in with 19 top nominations, and it continued its winning streak for the best drama title for the fourth year in a row.

But the stars of the period drama didn't fair so well - Jon Hamm was a four-time loser for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series - Kyle Chandler claimed that prize for his role in Friday Night Lights, while Julianna Margulies beat t...
