Gary Valentine Sues Over Sexual Assault Allegations

January 26th, 2011 8:30am EST
Gary Valentine
Kevin James' older brother, comedian Gary Valentine, is suing a woman who allegedly accused him of sexual assault, insisting her "groundless" claims damaged his reputation.

Valentine, who played Cousin Danny in James' sitcom King of Queens, is demanding $500,000 from a former business associate after she told authorities he sexually assaulted her during a work meeting last year.

In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the actor maintains his unnamed colleague brought out a bottle of wine and "initiated intimate contact" before performing "mutually consensual oral sex on...

25 Worst Movies Of 2009

November 27th, 2009 9:46am EST
The Body
Wow, there were some bad movies, like really bad, in 2009 but since we are optimists we like to think the good outnumbered the bad. We already discussed the good movies, and now we will feature the bad and ugly of 2009. Sometimes bad movies are entertaining enough to keep our attention for a few hours but sometimes the movies are so bad we induce vomiting to make us feel better.

Couples Retreat (25) had the cast and the budget to be a funny flick and it came out in the fourth quarter of 2009 when the best movies already came out. This movie was bad, not funny, and it might have marked th...

Kevin James: The Box Office 'King of Queens'

January 22nd, 2009 11:19am EST
Kevin James
(TJAGS is a weekly column) In the last week, over a five day span, the three following things have happened: A man whose father was born in Kenya was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States; a commercial airliner crashed -- two miles from my apartment -- into the Hudson River and everyone survived; and, perhaps most surprisingly, a Kevin James movie became a blockbuster number one hit at the box-office. If there was ever a time to fly to Vegas and take a futures bet on 'Hell freezing over' or 'pigs flying' or 'Mickey Rourke winning an Oscar,' well, may I suggest: "soon."

Interview: Nicole Sullivan Rocks!

January 12th, 2009 10:56am EST
Nicole Sullivan
(TJAGS weekly column) It was 9:30 PM, on a Thursday night, and I was in the middle of dinner and (more than a few) drinks at a local establishment. My phone starts vibrating in my left pocket, I don't recognize the number. I sheepishly answer and on the other end is the unmistakable voice of Nicole Sullivan (MADtv, The King of Queens, Rita Rocks) asking if this was a good time to speak. Our interview, scheduled earlier in the day, had been postponed -- I had thought, wrongly -- to another day.

She did not want to impose and explained we could reschedule. "Nonsense," I said, "we can st...

The Most Memorable TV Wives

They say that behind every great man is a great woman. But what if the woman is determined to step out of the man's shadow? On television, we have seen a many marriages weather the storm-be it separation, unemployment, or just plain bad choices. And most of the time, it's the husband who screws up. Remember when Homer bought a gun? When Al Bundy decided to hunt for gold? The fact that Archie Bunker was a racist or that Peter Griffin fought chickens? It's evident that a good wife will deal with lot foolishness.

Sometimes, though, it is the wives who carve out their niche on telev...

Best Movie Lines That Have Stuck In Pop Culture

June 5th, 2008 9:00am EDT
The Sixth Sense
There are some movies that live forever in the minds of humanity generation after generation. They span decades, continents, and cross racial and gender divides. What creates that certain magic is intangible, but it inevitably involves the memorable quotes that make their way into pop culture and every day speech.

These quotes have a universal quality, whether humorous or tragic, and they take you back to that exact moment in the film when Marlon Brando screams into the air or Humphrey Bogart gently touches Ingrid Bergman's chin. These iconic moments are not only remembered but consta...

In Hollywood there seems to be an everlasting stereotype that actors are extremely good looking and almost immortal. They are the untouchable eye candy on the screen. It doesn't matter what their personalities are like, we still idolize them and their looks.

Then there are those actors who seem to have very down-to-earth personalities and are so funny that you can't help but find them sexy. According to Psychology Today online, "The allure of male humor is so strong that female laughter may have evolved as a signal of sexual interest."
