TV Shows On The Verge Of Jumping The Shark
The concept of 'jumping the shark' is a fatal one for many involved in television. It all began in the tragic episode of 'Happy Days' in which iconic character, The Fonz, literally jumps over a shark, thus placing a death toll on the rest of the series. READ MOREBack from the Dead: TV Shows That Survived Cancellation
Shows are canceled all the time. This time the victim was "Men In Trees," a show that jumped timeslots, disappeared for months at a time, and was finally put out of its misery by ABC. It wasn't exactly a surprise the network canceled it. Who knew it was still on? (Fans can catch the final few episodes when it airs again beginning May 28.)
But what doesn't happen all the time is second chances. Once a television show is canceled (a.k.a. axed, yanked, cut, punted, escorted off the premises, etc.) by its network, it ceases to exist. Normally, that is the case...but not always. After al...

Combining the best elements of JAG and CSI, the CBS crime series NCIS focuses on an elite, independent unit of the U.S. Navy, which, in its pursuit of military-related criminal investigations, was answerable to no higher authority -- and thus, of course, was utterly impartial and incorruptible. Season 3 is now on DVD. Also on DVD: season 1 of The Drew Carey Show, The Odd Couple, One Day At A Time, WKRP In Cincinnati; and Kidnapped the complete series.
