Check Out 'In Treatment: The Complete Third Season' On DVD Oct. 4
Set within the highly charged confines of individual psychotherapy sessions, "In Treatment: The Complete Third Season" continues to center around Dr. Paul Weston (Gabriel Byrne).
Weston continues to cope with the after-effects of his recent divorce, as well as his move to Brooklyn to continue his practice.
In the midst of new emotional and physical challenges (including hand tremors he fears might be the onset of Parkinson’s Disease, which killed his father), Paul will be treating three new patients (Debra Winger, Irrfan Khan, and Dane DeHaan), and will see a new therapist (Amy Ryan) in N...

Gabriel Byrne Was Sexually Molested During Priest Training
Irish actor Gabriel Byrne was sexually abused and viciously beaten during his training to become a Catholic priest. The In Treatment star joined the Irish Christian Brothers as an 11-year-old altar boy, and undertook his seminary to become a priest for over five years.
However, the 59 year old reveals his days training to become a member of the clergy were tarnished by sexual molestations and classroom beatings.
In an interview with Irish broadcaster Gay Byrne, he reveals, "Unfortunately, I experienced some sexual abuse. It was a known and admitted fact of life amongst us that there...

Emmy Nomination Surprises, Snubs And Shouldn't Be Nominated
To paraphrase Ned Flanders, apparently an Emmy nomination is easier to get than an acceptance letter from Arizona State.
This morning, Emmy tried to one-up Oscar's new rule of ten by including six nominees in the acting categories and a whopping seven in the series categories. Yes, if you made a television series this year, or appeared on one, chances are you heard your name called in North Hollywood this morning.
With so many nominess, it seems impossible that any deserving performances or series were left out. Right? Sadly, no. And, of course, there are plenty of nominees who sh...

Emmy Voters, Please Recognize These Shows & Stars!
The 2009 Emmy nominees will be announced Thursday morning and despite recent changes to the voting system, Emmy voters just can't seem to stray away from the same old outcome. Sure, 30 Rock gets showered with love, but how many more times does Mariska Hargitay need to make the cut?
Here are some names we'd like to see on the roster this year (in alphabetical order):
Big Love (HBO) - Ok Emmy voters, it's been three seasons. It's time to get over your aversion to the icky polygamy premise and embrace the TV bliss that is "Big Love." After a two year break (damn writers' strike!) the sh...

Celebrities Who Should Spend Time On Dr. Paul's 'In Treatment' Couch
Season two of HBO's underrated and addicting therapy drama In Treatment starts Sunday, April 5, with new cast members Hope Davis and John Mahoney upping the star power. Miley Cyrus
During season one Paul spent his Wednesday afternoons with Sophie, a talented teenager...in a relationship with an older man...who had some father issues...and a bratty attitude. Sound familiar, Miley?

Who Will & Who Should Win An Emmy
Ah, the Emmys, the most entertaining awards show and often the most frustrating. Why is it so frustrating? Because the voters get it wrong. They get the winners wrong more often than casual sports bettors. In fact, they get it so wrong that predicting the winners is often a fool's errand since it's impossible to determine what will strike the Academy's fancy as the reasons for their choices are as mystifying as the results.
Luckily, Starpulse.com has one such fool. So it's time for a round of everybody's favorite game: Who Will Win and Who Should Win?

HBO Vs. Showtime
An average TV viewer has hundreds of options to watch on any given time slot, so if he or she chooses to pay extra money for a special channel, it better deliver on what it promises. HBO and Showtime are two channels that offer movies - both new and old - and quality television programming. Usually the shows are inappropriate for regular cable, and they are given more freedom to be daring, innovative, and crude.

Emmy Nominations Reaction: Who Was Snubbed, Who Shouldn't Be A Nominee
With the writer's strike a distant memory and an exciting new fall season dead ahead, we're finally ready to celebrate TV again. And what better way than with a lavish awards show?
Yes, the Emmy nominations were revealed at dawn in Los Angeles Thursday morning in a delightful little ceremony that saw Neil Patrick Harris and Kristin Chenoweth squeeze about two-dozen jokes in between their reading off the teleprompter.
There were surprises leading to gasps from the press, and plenty of nominations they all saw coming. Newcomer "Mad Men" led the drama category with 16 nominations w...

TV Stars Who Deserve Emmy Nominations On July 17, Part 1
Last week, I helped the Emmy panelists decide upon which series to cast their vote for, and now it's the actors' turn.
The Emmy blue ribbon panel received a group of lists from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences last week. These were top ten lists from which they were to select the five nominees for the big Emmy show. They will view select episodes from each nominee and base their decision on what they see.
It's nigh on impossible to glean an accurate impression from a small sample, especially when it comes to acting. Many characters are given complex arcs from which the...

Is HBO Losing Its Edge?
Remember the slogan, "It's not TV, It's HBO?" Well, up until a couple months ago this marketing ploy actually rang true. HBO has long been the trendsetter of original series that break all boundaries and push audiences' perception of what television is and should be.
Unfortunately, thanks to the culminations of the network's most beloved quartet of series - Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, and most recently The Wire - the Crown Royal of premium cable programming is in threat of losing its edge over the best of the rest.

'In Treatment' Features Stellar Writing, Directing & Performances
In Treatment, the powerful HBO series, stars Gabriel Byrne as Dr. Paul Westin, a middle-aged therapist who runs a practice out of his home, and it's probably the best thing on television. Although the series is nearing the end of its first season, it's something you should watch on demand, next season, or if and when there is a DVD release.

A Salute To Irish Actors On St. Patrick's Day
There’s something undeniably sexy about an Irish accent. Add celebrity into the mix, and you have a pretty powerful combination. Here are some of the Irish actors whose charisma, talent and lilting speech have made them favorites among moviegoers and TV fans:
When you think "Irish actor," Colin Farrell immediately comes to mind. A reformed bad boy who reportedly dated Britney Spears and made an infamous sex tape with former girlfriend and Playboy model Nicole Narain, Farrell has altered his priorities in the past few years.
