Iconic 'Dallas', 'I Dream Of Jeannie' Star Larry Hagman Dies At 81
Dallas star Larry Hagman passed away Friday afternoon in a Texas hospital after suffering from complications related to cancer, according to reports.
The TV star, who recently returned to playing ruthless oil tycoon J.R. Ewing on the 2012 revamp of the acclaimed 80s nighttime soap, was 81.
Hagman's family released a statement on the star's death that reads, "Larry was back in his beloved Dallas, re-enacting the iconic role he loved most... When he passed, he was surrounded by loved ones. It was a peaceful passing, just as he had wished for."

Former Dallas villain Larry Hagman is selling off his collection of memorabilia, art and antiques from the Ojai, California ranch he recently sold.
The treasure trove of personal stuff includes scripts from the original Dallas TV series, J.R. Ewing's cowboy boots and memorabilia from his other TV hits I Dream Of Jeannie, Bewitched and My Favorite Martian.
Hagman is also putting personal antiques, fine and decorative art and furniture up for sale - and there will also be items he collected from his actress mother Mary Martin's career.

Larry Hagman is thrilled the big screen version of I Dream Of Jeannie is finally going into production after years of false starts. The actor played Major Anthony Nelson in the popular 1960s TV series alongside actress Barbara Eden. He says, "They've been talking about doing this movie for 20 years. Finally it looks like it's going to get going."
According Hagman, the big screen version will feature actress Kate Hudson playing Jeannie and Jimmy Fallon as her "master." The veteran actor is not sure whether the original stars will make cameo appearances in the new film.
