Victoria Returns On An All-New 'HIMYM'

September 27th, 2011 9:27am EDT
ashley williams
How I Met Your Mother’s seventh season continued last night with “Ducky Tie.” I was excited because this episode was written by show creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, and they did not disappoint.

Also exciting was the return of Ashley Williams as Victoria, Ted’s (Josh Radnor) ex-girlfriend. The two had a passionate love affair in season one, but when she took a culinary art fellowship in Germany the long-distance was too much of a strain on the relationship. Ted ended up cheating on Victoria with Robin (Cobie Smulders), and he had felt really bad about it ever since.

Katie Holmes
Katie Holmes is going back to her TV roots for a cameo in hit comedy show "How I Met Your Mother."

Tom Cruise's wife, who rose to fame on TV series "Dawson's Creek," will play the woman in the "slutty pumpkin" costume, who was introduced to fans of the show six seasons ago.

The faceless character made her debut at a Halloween party in the first season of the series - and she became the object of Josh Radnor's character Ted Mosby's affections.

Every year since, the program has shown Ted eagerly waiting at the same party in the hope the mystery lady will be there - and now it appears the c...

'HIMYM' Makes A Legendary Return With 'The Best Man'

September 20th, 2011 10:39am EDT
HIMYM 'The Best Man'
How I Met Your Mother returned last night with a pair of brand new episodes. This marks the seventh season of the CBS sitcom, and with the end of Entourage, the Charlie Sheen meltdown, and Steve Carell saying goodbye, HIMYM is now the longest running sitcom with its original cast currently on television. I actually liked the second episode better, but lets start from the beginning.

“The Best Man” was written by HIMYM’s co-creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, and showed a lot of the style we’ve grown to love. It started out with a flash forward to Barney’s wedding. He was showing sign...

The number one thing you need to watch this week is “Glee” because after months of speculation, viewers will finally find out which cast member they will say goodbye to forever. Cast and crew have been tight-lipped about who is dying, but viewer guesses include Sue’s sister, Puck and Quinn’s daughter, or Kurt’s dad. Of course, this doesn’t mean it couldn’t be one of the regular cast members; ugh, I cringed at the thought!

It’s almost May Sweeps, and season finales will be upon us faster than the networks can cancel soaps. Let’s break it down, network by network, of what succeeded – and what flopped – this TV season.

NBC

Let’s start with the weakest network. After the ‘Jay Leno Show’ debacle last season, NBC is still scrambling to find original programming that will net decent ratings.

‘Law & Order: Los Angeles’ has proved a disappointment, as evidenced by its massive overhaul and return to floundering ratings. The comedy ‘Outsourced’ is on the bubble, and shows such as ‘Chase’ and ‘Undercovers’ bombed ...

Last night’s episode was called “The Exploding Meatball Sub,” but that was not really the main part of the episode. Instead, and rather unfortunately in my opinion, it centered on the complicated relationship between Ted (Josh Radnor) and Zoey (Jennifer Morrison) and also Marshall’s (Jason Segel) continuing lack of fulfillment at work.

Ted is working on the project for the new GNB Headquarters, which is to be built on the sight ...
