Michael Trucco will be getting more than a cameo on CBS' How I Met Your Mother. After an all-too-brief appearance in the season six episode "Hopeless," the actor will return in the comedy's upcoming eighth season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, HIMYM showrunners sought to bring Trucco's character back in the show's seventh season, but the actor's obligations to his regular role on USA's Fairly Legal prevented that from happening. Now he'll be present for multiple episodes in season eight.

I particularly liked last week’s “Trilogy Time,” written by Kourtney Kang. Ted and Marshall had gotten together to watch the Star Wars trilogy every three years, and it always prompted them to imagine what life would be like three years in the future. After a short break How I Met Your Mother returned last night with an all new episode written by the show’s co-creators, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. The last episode left us with Ted (Josh Radnor) in a transition. Robin (Cobie Smulders) told him that she didn’t love him, and as a result she moved out of the apartment above MacLaren’s. Ted, sensing that he needed a change too, gave the apartment back to Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) and began looking for a new place.

I once had dreams of becoming an Emmy-Winning actress, but thanks to a traumatizing audition for a middle school drama club and being roughly a few inches shy of Snooki-esque shortness, those dreams never panned out. The How I Met Your Mother actor has twins with his longtime boyfriend, who quit acting to become a chef in 2009.

Singer/actress Mandy Moore is set to star in a TV sitcom.

The Tangled star has landed the leading lady role in upcoming series Us and Them, a light-hearted take on family conflicts.

The show will revolve around Moore's character, a young newlywed named Annie, and her husband Ben, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

It's not the first time Moore has appeared on the small screen - she had a recurring guest role on hospital drama Grey's Anatomy and has made cameos in Scrubs, Entourage and How I Met Your Mother.

Kal Penn returned as Robin’s court appointed therapist, Kevin. He said that he could not continue as Robin’s therapist because he was “moving to Alaska.” When Robin later runs into Kevin, he admits that he ended it because he was attracted to her, and he was not allowed to date his patients.
