Our Favorite TV Moms: A Mother's Day Special
Let’s be honest: I doubt that any of the moms on this list are as awesome as your own mother (suffice it to say that none of them are as amazing as mine). But these women, these television moms, are certainly worthy of mention. You may have grown up with some of them or you may have watched them last week, but one thing’s for sure: they’re moms, and they’re pretty terrific. So, in honor of Mother’s Day (and in no particular order) I present our favorite TV moms.

Spotlight On Hillbilly Celebrities
A hillbilly celeb is like a young NBA player who came from nothing. Before they were popular they would eat at McDonald's, belch and swear in public, and do whatever they wanted. But now they live in a much different culture.
There are plenty of celebrities that came from nothing and turned into something. But what makes a hillbilly celeb different is the typically uneducated unsophisticated behavior that everyone enjoys watching.
Britney Spears and sister Jamie Lynn are perfect examples of hillbilly celebs. They are from the small town of Kentwood, Louisiana, and before they were mu...

Slideshow: Child Stars Who Grew Up Normal
The media focuses primarily on the failed careers of child stars, their rehab stints and jail time. Lindsay Lohan, Drew Barrymore, Corey Feldman, Britney Spears and Danny Bonaduce are among the celebrities who fall into that stereotypical troubled child star label. However, there have been a few child actors who grew up normal despite the media presence in their young lives.

A source says, "He just had some welts on his back (but) he didn't have to be taken to a hospital or anything like that."

ABC announces the premiere of new half-hour comedy series, "Surviving Suburbia," starring Bob Saget and Cynthia Stevenson, on Monday, April 6 (9:30-10:00 p.m., ET), following "Dancing With The Stars."
In the family-centered tradition of "Roseanne" and "Home Improvement," "Surviving Suburbia" opens the curtain to follow Saget and Stevenson as Steve and Anne Patterson, a seemingly normal couple who have been married for 20 years, have two children and a cookie cutter house in the idyllic suburbs. But Steve maintains a rather cynical point of view on family, friends, neighbors, society --...

Interview: Nicole Sullivan Rocks!
(TJAGS weekly column) It was 9:30 PM, on a Thursday night, and I was in the middle of dinner and (more than a few) drinks at a local establishment. My phone starts vibrating in my left pocket, I don't recognize the number. I sheepishly answer and on the other end is the unmistakable voice of Nicole Sullivan (MADtv, The King of Queens, Rita Rocks) asking if this was a good time to speak. Our interview, scheduled earlier in the day, had been postponed -- I had thought, wrongly -- to another day.

The Most Underrated & Overrated TV Shows Of The 90s
The 1990s was the beginning of the end for network television. Program offerings grew rapidly in the last decade of the 20th century. Soon it became commonplace for a person to have 50-60 channels on their home set, paving the way for the present-day satellite and digital cable packages for 1,000 channels or more.
The 90s was the last decade that network bosses could depend on massive ratings from a nearly captive audience bereft of choices. There were certainly plenty of cable shows, but they barely made a dent in the numbers enjoyed by the networks at the time.

The "Queen of Hip-Hop Soul," singer Mary J. Blige, was goofing around in a mall as a teenager making a demo in a karaoke booth. Anchorman Stone Phillips was waiting tables. Supermodel Cindy Crawford was a college freshman shucking corn at a fair in Illinois.
We've all heard countless stories of ways ordinary people were plucked from obscurity and catapulted into stardom. Still, let's be real: Mary, Cindy and Stone are the exception, not the rule. So, how many random gigs did most celebrities weather on the rocky path to fame?
