'Hell's Kitchen' Winner Meghan Gill On Her Big Win

6/15/2015 12:08pm EDT
Meghan Gill On Winning 'Hell's Kitchen': 'This Is An Experience'
Last week, Meghan Gill added her name to the list of Hell's Kitchen winners. The 28-year-old executive chef from Virginia survived Gordon Ramsay's culinary boot camp to nab herself a coveted position at Caesars Atlantic City, and sat down with Starpulse afterward to discuss her experience on the way to the top.

This victory was the latest accomplishment in a career she's spent more than a decade devoted to. "I have been engulfed in this business since I was 19 years old. I’m 30 now," she explained. "Within the past ten-plus years, I have gone through many difficult obstacles, personally an...

TV Preview: 'Hell's Kitchen' Season 14
With MasterChef Junior over, FOX turns to the fourteenth season of Hell's Kitchen to provide the network with its regular dose of Gordon Ramsay. But is the latest edition of the cooking competition worth the watch, especially as it's now pitted against NBC's The Voice?

To give you an idea of this show's longevity, Hell's Kitchen now has exactly the same number of seasons as American Idol. You know generally what to expect when you tune in, especially to tonight's premiere episode.

Every season always starts with the signature dish challenge, in which cooks whip up their best work for Rams...

Fall TV 2014: A Night By Night Comparison Of What May And May Not Work

5/15/2014 2:40pm EDT
Fall TV 2014: A Night By Night Comparison Of What May And May No
Now that all the big networks have revealed what they’ll be showing us this fall, let’s take a look at what may or may not work.

ABC is essentially playing it safe, and keeping Sunday Night intact. American Crime will swap for Resurrection at midseason. Resurrection was a buzzy drama that started seeing a ratings decline. Not waiting till midseason is probably a smart move. You don’t want to lose any more audience. It’s not a winning strategy, but ABC just doesn’t want to be in last place.

NBC has football, another super safe move. CBS is shaking things up, banishing Amazing Race...

Susan Heaton After Her 'Hell's Kitchen' Elimination

7/18/2013 12:15pm EDT
Hell's Kitchen
When we last talked to her in April, Susan Heaton was a contender for the Hell's Kitchen title. Last week, Chef Gordon Ramsay sent her home. Susan rejoined us earlier this week to look back on the entirety of her experience in Ramsay's kitchen, and let us know what she's been doing since the competition ended.

She has no hard feelings about her departure. "I think there is always room for improvement," she reflected. "Since it was my first time working a line, and working for Chef Ramsay, I think that in retrospect I would handle my nerves better and slow down and be more assertive with my...

'Hell's Kitchen': Anthony Rodriguez After His Elimination

6/13/2013 10:12am EDT
Hell's Kitchen
The men keep falling on Hell's Kitchen. Last week, the cooking competition said goodbye to 27-year-old line chef Anthony Rodriguez, despite his best efforts to hold the guys' Blue Team together. Anthony joined BFTV earlier this week to discuss what went wrong, what he learned, and where he's at now that he's out of the fire.

The New Orleans native echoed earlier comments by his teammates that the Blue Team wasn't always functioning as a team. "Our communication just wasn't there. When we were in sync, we were amazing, but we lacked that constant leading voice in the kitchen to pull us all ...

'Hell's Kitchen': Nedra Harris After Her Elimination

5/30/2013 10:10am EDT
Hell's Kitchen
"I do not regret anything I did," said Nedra Harris when BFTV connected with her following her departure from FOX's Hell's Kitchen. "There is a reason for everything.  This is just the start for me."

The outspoken kitchen manager from Detroit got the axe shortly after agreeing to transfer from the women's squad to the men's roster, a move that she doesn't regret. "My proudest moment was stepping up and going to the blue team," she explained, adding that her experience on the show "made me realize that with a good team, you can do anything.  You don’t always need to do it by yourself."

'Hell's Kitchen': Amanda Giblin After Her Elimination

5/14/2013 12:10pm EDT
Hell's Kitchen
After Amanda Giblin's exit from FOX's Hell's Kitchen, BFTV caught up with the 28-year-old executive chef from Orange County, New York to get her post-competition thoughts.

"I am a damn good sauté chef! I rocked the fish station every time I was put there. I am mostly proud to be associated with such a wonderful, strong group of women!" Amanda enthused, though she also told us, "I would have taken better control over the situation, not allowing myself to get so upset and frazzled."

What did she take away from her time in Hell's Kitchen? "I find as a Chef now, I’m more confident in my decis...

'Hell's Kitchen': Jacqueline Baldassari After Her Elimination

5/7/2013 2:38pm EDT
Hell's Kitchen
Last Tuesday, Jacqueline Baldassari became the next chef to be chopped from FOX's Hell's Kitchen, and she later joined BFTV to talk about it. "I watched the show on and off.  I anticipated craziness," said the 27-year-old roundsman from Florence, New Jersey. "It was up to me on how I was going to deal with it."

"I think I was a very creative and strong chef.  Every challenge I received a point," she continued, but added that "I would've liked to have become more comfortable faster. I was so nervous at first I couldn't think straight."

Nerves clearly didn't get in Jacqueline's way at least...

'Hell's Kitchen': Dan Ryan After His Elimination

4/30/2013 12:32pm EDT
Hell's Kitchen
He was the chef everyone loved to hate - now following his dismissal from Hell's Kitchen, BFTV caught up with Dan Ryan to find out if he really was that despised, and what he'll remember about his stint on the show.

First things first: Dan informed us that the vitriol audiences noticed on screen wasn't manufactured TV drama. "What you saw was definitely that accurate," he said. "There was like a gang mentality. I feel like they [the Blue Team] have a target every time. It was Jeremy [Madden], and then it was my turn, and there'll be someone else next."

Having said that, though, there are ...

'Hell's Kitchen': Jessica Lewis After Her Elimination

4/23/2013 11:45am EDT
Hell's Kitchen
Jessica Lewis was the latest chef to get axed from FOX's Hell's Kitchen - and after her elimination, the chef tournant from New York connected with BFTV to chat about her experience on the popular reality show.

"I was way quiet and should have stood up more for myself," reflected Jessica, who left after difficulties on the fish station during the dinner service in last Tuesday's episode. "I owned my mistakes, put my head down and worked - and I should have made others own their mistakes too. I am too nice to be cursing people out! It's just not me!"

Although she didn't walk away with the ...

'Hell's Kitchen': Jeremy Madden After His Elimination

4/16/2013 11:30am EDT
Hell's Kitchen
Another week, another elimination on Hell's Kitchen. BFTV recently connected with last week's departing chef, Jeremy Madden - who got the axe after mistakenly sending up a sample plate - to review his time on the FOX show and found out that he's different from the person you saw on TV.

"I'm not as dumb as I looked on the show, promise," Jeremy said. "I really am a capable chef and I do know what I'm doing."

In what made it to air, the 22-year-old lead cook from Los Angeles was sometimes confused and often called out by his colleagues on the men's team, but he's understandably got it more ...

Celebrating the 150th Episode of 'Hell's Kitchen' with Susan Heaton

4/9/2013 10:15am EDT
Susan Heaton
Tonight, Hell's Kitchen celebrates its 150th episode. The milestone falls in the middle of the FOX competition's scorching eleventh season, so BFTV snagged a few minutes with current cheftestant Susan Heaton to find out what motivated her to enter Hell's Kitchen and what it's really like to work for Chef Gordon Ramsay.

"Auditioning for Hell's Kitchen was the best decision I ever made," said Susan. "I was working full-time as a human resources manager and part-time culinary student, just pursuing a passion - really wanting to do something that I loved and hoping that one day it might turn i...

Chef Gordon Ramsay Dishes On Season 11 Of 'Hell's Kitchen'

3/19/2013 6:30am EDT
Gordon Ramsay
Chef Gordon Ramsay is an imposing figure on FOX's Hell's Kitchen, putting chefs to the test - and putting the incompetent and arrogant in their place. But to see him on Hell's Kitchen is to know only one side of Chef Ramsay, who has four TV shows on FOX alone, more Michelin stars than most chefs can even dream of, and a much warmer personality than commercials would have you believe. BFTV recently checked in with Chef Ramsay to get the inside dish on Season 11 of Hell's Kitchen.

"I’m in love with it now," he said of starting up the competition for an eleventh cycle. "I’m in love with the r...

3/12/2013 10:20am EDT
Hell's Kitchen
FOX's Hell's Kitchen has more seasons to its name than any other cooking competition on the airwaves. That's no surprise, because it appeals to fans of cooking and reality TV alike. It's always been one-part food, one-part utter mayhem. It's not just about what happens in the kitchen, but also who can handle the various outlandish challenges and their fellow competitors. Tonight, Chef Gordon Ramsay welcomes a whopping 20 new chefs into his kitchen to see who can stand the heat.

As is usual for Hell's Kitchen, Season 11 opens with the competing chefs singing their own praises as they wait t...

Gordon Ramsay 101: A Primer on TV's Hottest Chef

6/12/2012 1:20pm EDT
Gordon Ramsay
With Hell's Kitchen and MasterChef, you're seeing plenty of Chef Gordon Ramsay. If you still don't know who he is, here's a primer to get you informed about the chef with four (!) TV shows.

Who is Chef Gordon Ramsay?

Chef Gordon Ramsay is one of the most talked-about chefs currently working in the world today, and certainly one of the most recognizable. He was the first Scottish chef to win three of the prestigious Michelin stars in 2001 with Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, an establishment that still retains those honors as of 2011. He currently holds 12 Michelin stars.

He is also one of on...

This fall, two new half-hour comedies – "The Mindy Project" and "Ben And Kate" – will join "Raising Hope" and "New Girl" on an all-new Tuesday night comedy block.

"The Mindy Project" features Mindy Kaling as a skilled OB/GYN navigating the tricky waters of both her personal and professional life, as sh...

Gordon Ramsay Launches Defamation Lawsuit

3/23/2012 8:29am EDT
Gordon Ramsay
Gordon Ramsay has filed a $2.4 million lawsuit against a former associate who alleges the celebrity chef was "too busy" to promote their restaurant.

The Hell's Kitchen star is suing Danny Lavy for defamation and potential revenue losses following a disagreement about their joint eatery Laurier Gordon Ramsay in Montreal, Canada.

Lavy cancelled the contract last month and dropped Ramsay's name from the project, accusing the fiery chef of being "too busy to come to the restaurant" and failing to promote their business on TV chat shows.

Ramsay has branded the comments "false and defamator...

Q&A: Gordon Ramsay Saves More 'Kitchen Nightmares'

9/23/2011 12:00pm EDT
Kitchen Nightmares
I'm in awe of Chef Gordon Ramsay's accomplishments, because I have no idea how he does all of them. The Michelin-starred chef visited in June to talk Masterchef and in July for Hell's Kitchen, chatted with me at FOX's TCA presentation in August, and just yesterday the network announced his next series, Hotel Hell. Just seven months after we talked about the last season of Kitchen Nightmares, he's back again to chat about the new one (starting tonight at 8 PM ET/PT on FOX). The man clearly deserves a vacation.

Ramsay's a polarizing figure: it seems you either love him or hate him. As so...

Costa Rican Shark Poachers Tried To Set Gordon Ramsey On Fire

9/21/2011 9:20pm EDT
Gordon Ramsay
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay almost became a human kebab while shooting a documentary on Costa Rica's illegal shark fin industry when a fishmonger's henchman attempted to set him alight.

The brash Brit took a camera crew to the beaches of Costa Rica to capture the shady fishing enterprise - and he was almost killed in the process.

Ramsay tells Playboy magazine, "That was a little bit hairy... The fishmongers have these armed guards patrolling fortress-like towers, so we tried to get in and ran into a guard.

"They poured petrol all over my hair and neck and tried to set us on fire."

The ...

Brittany's TCA 2011 Blog: 'New Girl,' 'X Factor,' The Future Of 'Breaking In'

8/8/2011 8:00am EDT
TCA 2011
It's been seven months since the last Television Critics Association presentation - so now it's time for new buzz. I returned to the front row to catch up with the happenings at FOX and sister network FX. In this first part of my TCA blog, we meet New Girl and The X Factor, the FOX executive session sheds some light on House, Fringe and the Glee spinoff rumors, and I try not to faint.

There's always a surprise or two at these events, and mine happened right off the bat. FOX hosted a breakfast themed around its trio of Gordon Ramsay cooking shows (Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and Ma...

Q&A: Gordon Ramsay Dishes On Season 9 Of 'Hell's Kitchen'

7/18/2011 4:00pm EDT
Gordon Ramsay Dishes On Season 9 of 'Hell's Kitchen'
Our favorite chef is back (again)! While we're still watching season two of MasterChef, Chef Gordon Ramsay returns for the ninth (?!) season of his first FOX series, the aptly titled Hell's Kitchen. As the show's two-night premiere kicks off tonight (at 8 PM ET/PT, followed by a new MasterChef), Chef Ramsay sat down with me to dish about what we can expect from this season.

You can also revisit our previous chats about Kitchen Nightmares and MasterChef.

This is the ninth season for Hell's Kitchen. What do you think is the secret to the show's longevity?

Gordon Ramsay: You know what, no...

Summer Preview: 'MasterChef'

6/6/2011 5:18pm EDT
In a crowded field of TV competitive-cooking series, MasterChef is not my main course of choice, but it's certainly appetizing.

FOX knows that it's found a personality to build programming around in the legendary Gordon Ramsay, and they've given him three series on the network: Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and Masterchef. One can't help but compare the trio. While MasterChef is far less dramatic than Hell's Kitchen, it doesn't have quite as much heart as Kitchen Nightmares; it's like the love child of the two, with middling results.

If you missed the first season, MasterChef foc...

Summer 2011 TV Highlights

5/24/2011 1:00pm EDT
True Blood
As much as you should be going to the beach, catching a hot concert or spending time with friends at outdoor barbeques this summer, there is also a lot going on indoors too. We’re talking about what’s going on inside on the television. Summer television shows aren’t always about the addicting and sometimes laughable reality programs since stations like TNT and USA have stepped up their game with shows like The Closer and Burn Notice. As much as we were anticipating the return of Mad Men this summer only to be disappointed by the news that the premiere is delayed until 2012, we found a few m...

Gordon Ramsay Says Gasoline, Not Hair Transplant, Caused Swollen Face

1/20/2011 12:28pm EST
Gordon Ramsay
Gordon Ramsay has explained away rumors he recently underwent a hair transplant, putting his swollen face and scalp down to an infection and an allergic reaction.

The British chef was recently photographed wearing a medical-looking cap on his head and pictures of him with a puffy face, a common side effect of a hair transplant, fueled rumors he had undergone the procedure.

Ramsay has now opened up about the shocking images, revealing a recent encounter with robbers in Costa Rica, who poured gas all over him, led to a nasty scalp infection.

He told reporters at a press conference, "I had ...

Gordon Ramsay Facing Another Lawsuit

10/27/2010 8:27am EDT
Gordon Ramsay
TV chef Gordon Ramsay is facing legal action after pulling out of charity appearances to raise money for a young girl battling life-threatening health problems.

The Hell's Kitchen star failed to show up at a dinner in June for nine-year-old New Zealander Matisse Reid, who is waiting for stomach, pancreas and small and large bowel transplants and struggles to eat. He was forced to cancel after his mom, Helen Cosgrove, suffered a minor heart attack.

Ramsay has also pulled out of a second fundraising event in Auckland, New Zealand on Wednesday and another in Wellington on Thursday. Organi...

9/28/2010 11:36am EDT
Kitchen Nightmares
A New Jersey restaurateur featured on celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's TV show Kitchen Nightmares has committed suicide.

Joseph Cerniglia, 39, was found floating in New York's Hudson River last week after officials received a call about a man jumping off the city's George Washington Bridge. His death was ruled a suicide, reports the New York Post.

Cerniglia, a married father of three, opened up about his personal troubles and debt-ridden Fair Lawn, New Jersey restaurant, Campania, when he appeared on Kitchen Nightmares in 2007.

He told the TV host, "I'm financially in trouble - the debt ...

Chef Gordon Ramsay's Wife Is Hot - Who Knew?

8/14/2010 2:00pm EDT
Gordon Ramsay
We spotted British chef Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana at the Lazarides Gallery in Beverly Hills on Thursday. Who knew his wife was so hot?

The "Hell's Kitchen" host slammed a huge cake onto host George Lopez's head on his talk show.

Chef Ramsay started the food fight as he judged a cake decorating competition between Lopez and HK winner Holli Ugalde.

Gordon, who has recently been criticized for getting botox and his teeth whitened, confirmed this week that he is planning to open an English-style pub in LA.

Gordon Ramsay Brings More Kitchen Competition In 'Masterchef'

7/27/2010 8:39am EDT
Gordon Ramsay
With both "Hell’s Kitchen" and "Top Chef" in their seventh season while Food Network is putting out shows such as "Iron Chef America," "Next Food Network Star," and "Cupcake Wars," it seems that America can’t get enough of food competition shows during the summer. This week following "Hell’s Kitchen," Fox is introducing a new show, "Masterchef," to their foodie-friendly line-up.

"Masterchef" is a show based on similar versions in the U.K. and Australia. The concept may sound rather familiar – a group of contestants compete in food challenges, trying to survive elimination and become the wi...

'Hell's Kitchen' 7 poll: Which Two Chefs Do You Want Kicked Out ? (Poll)

6/26/2010 10:12am EDT
Hells Kitchen
Which two chefs do you want kicked out of Chef Gordon Ramsay's kitchen on episodes seven and eight of "Hell's Kitchen" season seven? Vote below!

Since saying goodbye to Scott, it appears that we've really gotten rid of some dead weight on the show, but that doesn't mean there aren't some chefs hanging on the edge.

Salvatore is struggling. He has moments of greatness, but when his moments are bad, they are really bad. Painfully bad. Plus, I think Ramsay is getting annoyed with having an Italian chef who can't handle cooking pasta.

Another chef struggling is Jason. Jason has proved th...
