Day Ten (Part 2)
The finale begins with Heather's parents and Virginia's mother and husband arriving to visit. The finalists are then each given half of the restaurant and the kitchen to create their own dining experience for the final challenge. Before the final service, they are taken to Vegas where they prepare their signature dish and present it to twenty random tasters. The women have to go to a tie breaker and Virginia wins. Once back at Hell's Kitchen, the finalists learn that they will receive the help of six past contestants, Virginia getting to pick her team first as she won the challenge. Heather turns her side of the dining room into a video inspired modern establishment and Virginia installs a waterfall for ambience. At service, Heather succeeds at service but has some issues with the food before it goes out. Virginia clashes with her team and they slow her down due to their dislike of her. Ultimately, both cooks are well reviewed for their food and they find out that the President of the Red Rock Resort was also in attendance. After taking into account customer opinion and overall performance during the show, Heather is named the winner and the reqard of becoming Executive Chef at the Red Rock Resort.
The challenge for the episode is a complicated one where each team has to prepare a three course meal in only 20 minutes and with only one cook in the kitchen at a time. Due to miscommunication, plates get forgotten or duplicated. The women win again and are taken on a yacht, much to the displeasure of the men on the Blue Team who have to do laundry. Sexist remarks ensue after the women return. For the evenings service, neither team were able to serve a full service but the Red Team served more entrees so they won. Tom and Giacamo both have votes against them and Tom ends up going home.
The contestants are introduced in this second season where one chef can win the ultimate prize- the coveted title of Executive Chef at the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa in Las Vegas. The competition begins with each of the contestants making their signature dish. Giacomo wins the challenge. The contestants are then divided into their teams, this season the men comprise the Blue Team and the women comprise the Red Team. For the evening's dinner service, the chefs keep getting moved to different stations as Chef Ramsey is unhappy with their performance and ultimately he shuts down the kitchen. Polly takes over an hour to get four appetizers plated and out to the floor and ends up being the first to be eliminated.
Day Ten (Part 1)
The five remaining contestants are reassigned into one single team- the Black Team. Keith wins the individual challenge with his unique dish and receives a trip to Las Vegas to visit the Red Rock Resort. He brings Virginia with him on the trip much to Garrett's dismay. For the dinner service, the five cooks are on their own to get the plates out to the diners. Virginia had trouble timing her garnishes and Garrett undercooks a chicken but ultimately the service is completed with Keith chosen as the best of the night. Garrett is eliminated for his potentially hazardous mistake.
The contestants are told to taste various haute cuisine dishes only to find out that they are made out of pedestrian items such as cheese wiz and hot dogs. To atone for their poor judgement, the Teams are put to the challenge by having to identify different ingredients through taste. The Red Team wins the challenge and gets to participate in a TV Guide photoshoot with Ramsay. At dinner service, the Blue Team is disrupted by Heather's need to control everything and by Keith's lack of confidence. Meanwhile, a hair is found in the Red Team's entrees and no takes responsibility. Rachel has problems with her Wellington entrees, first under cooking them, then over cooking them. She is ultimately eliminated at the end of the episode.
As the women filled Red Team is dominating the competition, Chef Ramsey shakes things up by transfering Heather to the Blue Team. The teams are then taken to Pink's Hot Dog Stand to watch one of LA's busiest restaurants operate but are then told that they have to open for a lunch service so the contestants sprint back to the restaurant. The presence of Heather helps the Blue Team and they end up narrowly winning the lunch service. It's also the first time Ramsey hasn't closed the kitchen down. For the dinner service, the success at lunch isn't duplicated and Ramsey shuts the kitchen down after numerous mistakes and blunders occur. He has one chef from each team nominated to be in the bottom two- Virginia and Tom- and he ends up eliminating Tom.
The contestants go out of the kitchen for their challenge where they each prepare a lunch special for a group of construction workers. Virginia's sandwich is voted top choice and she is given a hefty prize- a shopping spree at a kitchen supply store and a guaranteed spot in the Final 3. This angers the other cooks as they believe Virginia to be out of her depth. At dinner service, the cooks are told that they will also be serving three master chefs so the pressure is on. Virginia continuously holds up the pace by not preparing the garnishes fast enough, especially with Heather moving at a rapid pace at the meat station. Sara runs into trouble over the amount of fish she has and Keith undercooks some of his pasta. Virginia continues to disappoint Ramsay and he ends up telling her that her spot in the Final 3 is no longer guaranteed. At elmination he changes his mind and stays true to his word, eliminating Sara.
The final three are given twenty minutes to recreate Ramsay's signature dish and Virginia wins the challenge, much to the dismay of Heather and Keith who secretly accuse her of cheating. Virginia wins time with Ramsey to learn about running a restaurant while the other two polish silverware. For the dinner service, the three contestants' leadership skills are put to the test as each of the cooks has to function as the head chef, checking quality and proper preparation of dishes before they are taken out to the floor. Heather and Keith both perform adequately but Virginia impresses Ramsay the most. Even though Virginia has been in the bottom three six times before, Ramsay eliminates Keith for his rude attitude.
Both teams are taken to Grand Central Market in order to be inspired to create a three course meal. They are then given twenty minutes to puchase the ingredients. The Teams come close on the challenge but the Red Team wins victory after Heather's dessert is deemed soggy. The menu for the dinner service is then thrown out and the two teams are given freedom to create their own. The Red Team's menu is overly ambitious and this prevents them from getting their plates out to the floor. Ramsay orders the Blue Team to help them finish their service as well. The Blue Team easily wins the night and Maribel is ultimately eliminated for lacking leadership qualities.
