Madison disappears as the wedding party prepares to board the ship for home. A mysterious phone call informs Abby that if anyone leaves the island, Madison will be killed.
As the wedding party embarks on a scavenger hunt, Trish confronts an old flame, Henry makes peace with some locals and Abby runs into a friend who is haunted by John Wakefield and the islands tragic past.
Thrack, Splat, Sizzle
As the wedding guests prepare to leave the island, evidence leads the Sheriff to believe JD is responsible for the deaths on the island. Also, Abby learns a dark secret linking her to Wakefield and Trish wants to call off the wedding.
When a local girl's death is ruled a suicide, Abby challenges her father, the Sheriff, to investigate what really happened. As the wedding approaches, Trish must come to a decision about Hunter.
A flashback to sixteen years ago shows Abby and Henry enjoying a wonderful moment of friendship on Harper's Island. Abby whispers something in Henry's ear. Back in the present, Shea and Madison make it to the boathouse where Sully still suspects that Jimmy is Wakefield's accomplice. Abby and Jimmy search the forest for Henry and Trish, and eventually find Trish, dead from a stab wound. Sully sends Shea and Madison back to the mainland in a boat. Henry reaches the boathouse and finds out that the helicopter will arrive in 45 minutes. Henry and Sully head into the woods and Henry slits Sully's throat while his father, Wakefield, looks on. Abby and Jimmy meet Henry in the woods and he leads them into the chapel. Wakefield attacks Abby and Jimmy, but Henry won't get a shot off to save Jimmy. Abby flees and eventually sees Henry in the woods. He tells her that Jimmy is dead before knocking her out. Some time later, on the mainland, Shea and Madison talk to the police and are informed that there were no survivors on Harper's Island. Abby wakes up in the house and Henry reminds her of the childhood wish they shared: To live on Harper's Island forever, just the two of them. Abby breaks out of the house and discovers Jimmy handcuffed but alive. Henry pursues Abby to the edge of the bluffs, but Jimmy tackles him off the cliff. After making sure Jimmy is alive, Abby stabs Henry. Abby and Jimmy ride off into the sunset. In the coda, pre-wedding videos show the victims before all of the madness started.
While attempting to get to a boat that will take everyone off the island, a massive explosion destroys the marina. The group retreats to a hideaway where a secret is revealed that leaves the group reeling.
The remaining members of the wedding party begin to turn on one another. Then, after finding maps of the island's underground tunnel system, they all join together to search for Madison.
The remaining occupants of Harper's Island track the murderous Wakefield and capture him. With Wakefield locked up, everyone breathes easier. Abby discusses her mother's past with Wakefield, specifically the existence of a child they had together. Trish finds a boathouse and uses the radio to contact the Coast Guard. Madison reveals that Wakefield had someone helping him the tunnels, but before Danny can investigate further, Wakefield breaks out of his cell and kills him. Madison and her mother escape from the Sheriff's station. Wakefield's next stop is The Candlewick Inn, but Trish escapes into the forest wearing her wedding dress. Trish runs into Henry in the woods and he reveals himself as Wakefield's accomplice (and son) and knifes his would-be bride.
The groomsmen take Henry fishing for his bachelor party and make a gruesome discovery. The bridesmaids celebrate Trish's final days as a bachelorette with a psychic who has a very strong reaction to Abby.
A father/daughter bike ride in the woods leads to a startling revelation. Abby uncovers the Sheriff's secret obsession as Trish and Henry's wedding rehearsal takes an unexpected turn.
Abby Mills returns to Harper's Island for the wedding celebration of her best friend, Henry Dunn, and his fiancée, Trish Wellington. Abby hasn't been home in seven years, since her mother and five others were murdered by John Wakefield.
With the wedding party reeling after Tom Wellington is murdered at the rehearsal, Abby, Henry and J.D. take matters into their own hands as they try and solve the murder.
