According to the NAACP, with the cancellation of the Bernie Mac Show, for the first time in recent history, there is not a comedy with an African-American lead character left on the big four networks. When it comes to returning sitcoms and the announced new comedies, African Americans are missing in action.

Destiny's Child Members To Guest Star on Sitcoms
The destinies of former Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams are set - they'll be starring in TV sitcoms. Williams will appear in three episodes of UPN's Half & Half, a drama about a hard-edged record executive who turns out to be HIV positive. And bandmate Rowland will appear in another UPN show, Girlfriends, as an innocent intern who is not all she appears to be.
Rowland is hopeful her run on Girlfriends might turn into her own sitcom, saying, "We'll see. I would love that."

Destiny's Child Singer To Guest Star On UPN's Half & Half
UPN's comedy Half & Half will feature a three-episode HIV storyline guest starring Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child in which she plays Naomi Dawson, a rival record producer who is HIV positive with whom Spencer (Chico Benymon) is pursuing a relationship. The three-episode arc airs in consecutive weeks beginning Monday, February 13 (9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN.
