10 Of The Most Frustrating TV Show Cliffhangers Ever
One of the most frustrating things as a dedicated viewer of a series is when the writers put themselves into the undeniable situation of not knowing how to end things. Tying up loose ends is difficult when you have shows that go on for many years. While some are successful ("Friends") some fall flat and give viewers the feeling that they have just wasted hours of their lives. Here are some of television's most frustrating cliffhangers ever. We still get annoyed thinking about them!

1. The Sopranos

Wait, what just happened? Did my cable go out? Did something happen to the TV? No, it wasn...

'Parenthood': The Best Show You're Not Watching

February 28th, 2012 1:10pm EST
parenthood cast
It’s not a stretch to say that while most Americans are struggling through the current economic crisis, Hollywood is battling its own creative recession as the industry continues to sink its money into remakes of old shows, superhero franchises and classic fairytales.

This is why it’s a crime against television that NBC’s “Parenthood” is so unacceptably under-watched and underappreciated. This cape-free show follows the lives of three generations of the tight-knit, wine-loving Braverman clan. With drama that's unflinchingly genuine, the show doesn’t just tug on the heartstrings, it downr...

Fall TV Progress Report: Grading 10 New And Returning Shows

Fall is one of my favorite times of year, and it’s not because of everything from, lattes to cakes, is pumpkin-flavored and stores are stuffed with caramel apples. It’s because there is a fresh, shiny crop of new and returning shows to devour. Most shows are at least three episodes in, so it’s time to grade 10 new and returning shows to gauge their progress in this burgeoning season.

“2 Broke Girls” CBS Mondays 8:30 P.M. EST

“2 Broke Girls” is a snappy, odd couple sitcom about Max (“Thor’s” Kat Dennings), an uber-sarcastic and cynical waitress who takes in Caroline (Bet...

Wishes Of A Television-aholic: 'Supernatural'

To say that I am a fan of “Supernatural”—The CW thriller with a rabid cult following—would be like saying that the Oprah Winfrey has a little bit of money in the bank. I have ravenously watched it, trolled the internet for spoilers and leaked script pages, and giddily listened to interviews from the writers, producers and actors who speak at conventions like Comic-Con.

I love this show—about two brothers who travel the country in a '67 Chevy Impala and hunt demons and other evil entities while dodging law enforcement—because of its dark humor, gut-wrenching drama, skin-crawling gore, and...

'Bridesmaids' Scene Stealer: Melissa McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy
As a shameless lover of entertainment, there are certain actors and musicians I passionately support through the good, the bad, and the downright awful. I followed Justin Timberlake from ‘N Sync’s “I Want You Back” to his solo smash, “SexyBack.” And I’ve happily followed the brilliant Melissa McCarthy from The WB’s “Gilmore Girls” to ABC’s “Samantha Who?” and most recently to the silver screen in Bridesmaids. After her scene-stealing performance in this laugh-til-you-cry wedding comedy, I am confident her fanbase will grow exponentially.

I was first turned onto McCarthy’s whimsical br...

Dear Santa:

I don't believe one can ever be too old to believe in the magic and spirit of the holiday season, nor do I believe one shouldn't be able to ask for something they want. After all, if Oprah and The Secret taught us anything, it is that you have to put what you want out in the universe in order to have a shot at getting them. So keeping that in mind, here is my not-so grown-up Christmas list!

Is it just me, Santa, or is it really annoying when a studio puts out the first season or two of a favorite old show on DVD just to see what kind of response it will get but then makes...

Michael Ausiello, "Entertainment Weekly's" TV writer, is the "outbreak monkey" of his field. There is a new virus that is affecting the field of media journalism, and that plague is celebrity. The new neo-celebrity status of these journalists has a patient zero - the person we see as the beginning of it all - and that is Ausiello himself.

The line between celebrity and non-celebrity has blurred in the past 15 years thanks to a change in how we interpret and apply entertainment and media into our daily lives. This change has created a domino effect that has also hit the field of journ...

Matt Damon may have once started out as a serious thespian with small parts in films like Courage Under Fire and The Rainmaker, but he really didn't make a name for himself until 1997's Good Will Hunting, for which he also won an Oscar for screenwriting. There the blond-mopped young man played deep, pensive, and somewhat brooding characters, so it's a far cry to see him years later donning prosthetic noses and busy mustaches in order to get some added laughs for quirky, somewhat socially awkward characters. But Damon, in movies like the Ocean's Eleven series and now The Informant has proven...

The first thing that struck me when the creators of The Beautiful Life addressed a crowd of bloggers who just watched their episode one cutdown (a hype package full of fast cuts, pretty people, and loud music) was how much producer Karey Burke looks like Leslie Mann. She could be on this show as one of the model mentors! This weekend "500 Days of Summer" became my favorite movie of the season. The film's non-linear style of romantic storytelling works incredibly well. Jumping back and forth through various days in Tom and Summer's relationship is a fascinating way to get to know the couple.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Tom with an awkward charm that other lovesick fools can identify with. Much like a typical heartbroken lover, Tom finds himself bogged down remembering the positive parts of his relationship but forgetting the trials and tribulations.

While the film is not a typical love story filled w...
