Nervous about her graduation from community college, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) seriously considers not showing up for the ceremony. She is persuaded to don cap and gown by daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel), who also secretly invites her grandparents, Richard (Edward Herrmann) and Emily (Kelly Bishop), to show up at the graduation. But when the time comes for Lorelai to receive her diploma, Rory herself is nowhere to found. The reason? She has taken a little trip to New York -- with Jess (Milo Ventimiglia).
