Viewers don't just follow romances in film and primetime, they watch every day to see what's going on between their favorite soap opera couples. Soap operas have some of the most die hard and loyal fan bases around.

Soap star Julie Berman wed real estate broker Michael Grady in a Roman Catholic ceremony at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The 24-year-old, who is a regular on General Hospital, chose wedding dress designer Monique Lhuillier to create her veil and gown. Her eight bridesmaids were styled by Amsale.

Guests took home fresh-baked scones and organic peach preserves as a gift from the newlyweds.

Daytime soaps are in again, according to "Sopranos" star Vincent Pastore, Spice Girl Mel B. and a host of other celebrities. ABC Daytime and SoapNet have been tapping celebrities to promote the daytime dramas. The shows "All My Children," "One Life To Live" and "General Hospital" are offered collectively five times a day on ABC and SoapNet.

Do you ever watch "Dancing with the Stars" and find yourself wondering who is more famous - the star or the dancer? For every 90's teen drama star we also get a handful of models and singers who aren't so much "stars" as they are "available marginally talented individuals."

For the first time ever on ABC's "General Hospital," actor and musician Rick Springfield will sing on the multi-award winning daytime drama. Airing on Thursday, August 23, Springfield will perform the song "Who Killed Rock 'n Roll?" from his upcoming album due for release in early 2008.

In addition, national non-profit LIFEbeat will be incorporated into the concert storyline to educate the audience on the worthwhile, real-life charitable organization that works with the music industry and those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Soap Opera Actress/Writer Jeanne Davis Glynn Dies

Actress and screenwriter Jeanne Davis Glynn has died after a longterm battle with cancer. She was 75. Glynn, who was nominated for five Emmy Awards writing for soap operas, had been receiving treatment for cancer since 1999.

She passed away at a healthcare centre in New Fairfield, Connecticut on Friday.

Glynn won Emmy nominations for her work on TV shows in '80s and '90s including General Hospital, Guiding Light and One Life To Live.

Soap Star Darlene Conley Dies at 72

The Bold And The Beautiful star Darlene Conley has died of stomach cancer at her Los Angeles home. She was 72. The veteran actress, who played flamboyant Sally Spectra in the soap from 1988, passed away on Sunday after being diagnosed with cancer three months ago.

The show's executive producer Bradley P. Bell has paid tribute to her acting talents, saying, "She constantly entertained us with every move, every breath, every inflection of her voice. Whether she was the villain, the damsel, the sexpot or the comedienne, Darlene was brilliant."

John Stamos is set to become a permanent member of hit medical drama series ER. Stamos will make his debut as full-time ER 'resident' Tony Gates, in the opening episode of the upcoming 13th season. Gates first appeared as a flirtatious paramedic, who was also a medical student and Gulf War veteran, in two episodes last November.

Stamos began his career acting in the TV series General Hospital and recently starred in the ABC comedy show Jake In Progress.

Rick Springfield To Return to General Hospital

Award-winning actor and musician Rick Springfield returns as General Hospital's Dr. Noah Drake, the role he originated nearly 25 years ago, it was announced today by Brian Frons, president of ABC Daytime. Springfield's first airdate will be December 2.

"Dr. Noah Drake has always been a fan favorite and we are so happy that storyline will allow for the character to make an exciting return to the canvas," said Mr. Frons in making the announcement. Springfield added, "I guess there was a reason why they didn't kill Noah off in the '80s. This should be fun. I'm looking forward to it."
