The long-running soap opera pulled in awards for Outstanding Drama Series, Directing, Supporting Actor (Jonathan Jackson) and Supporting Actress (Nancy Lee Grahn).

Soap opera General Hospital has been tipped for glory at the 2012 Daytime Emmy Awards after scooping a whopping 23 nominations.

The long-running medical drama, which is up for the highly-coveted Outstanding Drama Series trophy, also landed nods in the best lead actor and actress categories for Maurice Bernard, Anthony Geary and Laura Wright.

Tying for second place were children's show Sesame Street and TV soap The Young and the Restless, which received 16 nominations a piece, while Days of Our Lives is up for 15.

I can count the unwatchable episodes of “Supernatural” on one hand—“Bugs,” “Ghostfacers,” and “Red Sky At Morning” immediately come to mind. Four-time Emmy Award-winner Jonathan Jackson has quit beloved soap General Hospital.

The actor, who plays Lucky Spencer in the series will shoot his final scenes next week, according to TV Guide magazine.

In recent months the actor's character has lost a child and fought an addiction to drugs. The publication reports Jackson will make his final appearances on the show in late December.

The actor has spent much of his life on the program, making his debut in 1993 when he was 10.

He is married to former General Hospital castmate Lisa Vultaggio.

Movie star, Oscar host, filmmaker and scholar James Franco is now launching a music career.

The always-busy star has teamed up with drag artist Kalup Linzy to create new duo Kalup and Franco.

The odd couple became friends after the actor invited Linzy to perform on TV soap "General Hospital" during Franco's stint on the show.

The duo will release its first EP, "Turn It Up," next month, and Franco and Linzy plan to release videos featuring celebrity guests to accompany all their songs.

Hollywood actor James Franco is set to return to soap opera General Hospital for a one-off episode this spring, which will be filmed in a New York gallery as part of his ongoing art project.
