After Phillip Frye is cryogenically frozen on New Year's Eve 1999 he doesn't wake up until the year 2999. He ends up befriending, among others, Leela, a confident, one-eyed alien with purple hair; Bender, an alcohol-powered robot; Farnsworth, a distant relative and scientist; and Zoidberg, a lobster-like alien. The group forms Planet Express Delivery Service, and they travel the universe risking life and limb to deliver their packages.<br>
