August 8th, 2008 10:31am EDT
Heroes
Two weeks ago, nerds, geeks, and those "just going to San Diego for the weekend to check out the beaches" poured into Comic-Con 2008 in all their "Babylon 5"-clad glory.

Comic-Con is an ever-evolving beast. It started as a few dozen collectors meeting in a basement in San Diego to trade and discuss comics. Now it is an event so massive it shuts down an entire city for the weekend.

Comic-Con also holds a tremendous amount of power nowadays. Nervous directors unveil scenes from their latest superhero big-screen opus to the attendees, well-aware that a lukewarm response could spe...

Celebrity Fashion Review: Midsummer Dreams And Nightmares

July 9th, 2008 10:37am EDT
Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Smith
We are already midway through summer and the red carpet fun fair is a never ending saga. Celebrity fashion does not stop for any season. Summer time, by far, is when Hollywood types of all sorts come out with guns a blazing. Some leave us with midsummer dreams, while others leave us with midsummer nightmares.

Midsummer dreams

The couple that gets 'jiggy wit it,' dresses well together. The couple that is happy together is a matching pair. This is always the case for Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith; obviously, there was no exception on June 30 at the Hollywood premiere at G...

Funny Film Cameos

June 2nd, 2008 10:13am EDT
Ben Stiller
A cameo used to refer to a famous person who made an appearance in a film as him or herself. Now actors play small parts as a character in a film for comic relief. Most cameos are non-credited due to the shortness of the screen time or because they are so famous they don't need a big credit. Some are publicity stunts. Others pay tribute to that actor's work in a similar role, but they are all for the most part hilarious. Following are 10 of film's funniest cameos in no particular order:

Will Ferrell as the pompous and entertaining Chazz Reinhold in Wedding Crashers

Our Favorite Fictional TV Towns

May 22nd, 2008 8:30am EDT
South Park
Many television series are based in real-life cities (Full House - San Francisco; Family Matters - Chicago; and Beverly Hills, 90210 - Beverly Hills). Even though several TV towns are fictional, TV fans can't help but wonder what it'd be like to live there.

Here's a look at some of our favorite fictional TV towns:

Stars Hollow, Connecticut (Gilmore Girls)

Stars Hollow, which was founded in 1779, is a small town in Connecticut that's home to some very eccentric characters. From Rory and Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), to the grouchy Luke Danes and the always stranger Kirk, ther...

Top 10 Corniest 80's TV Theme Songs

May 12th, 2008 9:02am EDT
The Facts Of Life
In today's TV climate, several shows don't even bother with theme songs (Lost, for example). Or the songs are barely a blip on the screen (Grey's Anatomy). That wasn't the case 20 years ago.

If you're a child of the 80s, there's something nostaligic about the decade's TV theme songs. But there's also something really hokey about them too. Here's our list of the corniest 80's TV theme songs:

10. Facts of Life

This song is really stupid, but you have to admit that the guys here on Scrubs nail it to the point where it's hard to say whether or not it should even make the list. ...

What Are Your Favorite TV Bloopers?

Defining Greatness: The One-Hit Wonder Scale

February 26th, 2008 11:14am EST
Vanilla Ice
Probably the most underrated term in the music industry is the "One Hit Wonder." Popularized in the 80s, one hit wonders are either regarded as artists with one hit (like Deee-Lite’s "Groove is in the Heart"), or artists who produced a song that everybody knows (like "Turning Japanese" by The Vapors).

However, the truth of the matter is that one hit wonders actually come in many shapes and sizes. There are hits that are huge one day and laughable the next, there are hits that are mildly spectacular at first but ultimately propel the careers of the artists who recorded them, and there a...

Marsden isn't destined to be "The Other Guy" much long...

"Full House" was a show about talk show host Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) who was raising his three girls with his brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos) and his best friend Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier) after his wife Pam is killed by a drunk driver. You laughed, you cried and you learned a lesson all in one episode.

80's TV Stars: Where Are They Now?

Nothing makes you feel older than when you realize that 1987 was 20 years ago. Those of us born and/or raised in the 1980s remember a time of outrageous fashion, outrageous music, and most of all, outrageous television.

But most of us have also made the transition from the 1980s to the present day with relative ease - we've put away our scrunchies, retired our parachute pants, cut out our shoulder pads, and we've moved onwards and upwards (into the stylized 00s).

But what about the television stars we love and hate? Did they ever manage to leave it all behind? Starpulse is sick ...
