East of Dillon
Coach Taylor wonders how low his fortunes can sink as he struggles to pull the East Dillon Lions together while Tami navigates the new politics at West Dillon. Meanwhile, Matt gets a taste of life as a townie and Tim is inspired by a college lecture on "the hero's journey."
In the Skin of a Lion
Coach betrays Tami's trust when the Lions need new uniforms. Tensions between Vince and Luke threaten the team's already meager chances on the field. Meanwhile, Tim helps Coach condition his players and Julie does not want to go to church.
The Lions play the worst team in the league, leading people to dub the mismatch "The Toilet Bowl." Meanwhile, Tami and Julie go on a college tour in Boston. Elsewhere, Tim makes a bad decision and helps Luke make an equally questionable one.
The Lights in Carroll Park
Coach Taylor and Buddy crusade to make an East Dillon park safer for the players. While the coach works to help his team, Tami feels distant from her distracted husband. Elsewhere, Julie makes a new friend when she volunteers and helps build a house. Meanwhile, Becky faces with the consequences of her one-night stand with Luke.
Coach Taylor is urged by Big Mary to find a new way to lead his team. When Becky goes to Tim for help, he puts Tami in an uncomfortable situation. Vince must deal with his mother's medical emergency and Luke's parents want to help him with his dilemma.
Tami must defend her job and her actions when a parent asks for her termination as principal of East Dillon. Elsewhere, Julie starts making big plans for her future but gets an unexpected phone call that rocks her emotionally. Meanwhile, Tim celebrates a big purchase with Becky and her mother as Luke struggles with his injury and grows more desperate to appease the pain.
Tensions in town run high as the highly anticipated Panthers-Lions game approaches. Unfortunately, Coach Taylor tells Luke he will not be playing in the big game. Elsewhere, Tami must decide if she should follow what the school board instructs her to do and make a public apology. Meanwhile, Vince is persuaded to avenge his friend's murder.
Amid all the stress and madness, the Taylors host Thanksgiving dinner while Luke gets an offer that could take him way from the Lions. Elsewhere, Tami finally makes a decision regarding her career. In addition, Julie and Landry are surprised by a visitor from their past who has an interesting proposition, and Tim makes a difficult decision that will change his life forever. East Dillon rallies around the Lions for their big game against West Dillon.
