Mircea Monroe Talks Returning To 'Hart Of Dixie' And 'Episodes'

October 7th, 2013 4:13pm EDT
Hart of Dixie
She's beautiful, she's brilliant, and she's bringing it on not one but two TV shows. Mircea Monroe has doubly impressed TV audiences as Tansy Truitt on The CW's Hart of Dixie and Morning Randolph on Showtime's Episodes. Before tonight's Hart of Dixie season premiere, BFTV sat down with Mircea to discuss both her characters, what it's like to transition between a pair of very different roles, and working with not one but two talented casts.

"It's awesome. It just was perfect timing," she told us of being able to work on two shows simultaneously. "I just believe in them both so much. They're...

July 18th, 2013 10:01am EDT
House of Cards
After picking up nine nominations, Kevin Spacey's Netflix series "House Of Cards" will be a big contender at the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards. The political thriller was recognized in the Outstanding Drama Series category and picked up dramatic acting nominations for its leads, Spacey and Robin Wright. It received a total of nine nominations.

The Netflix series will be facing stiff competition from last year's big winners "Homeland" and "Breaking Bad" as well as "Mad Men", "Game of Thrones" and "Downton Abbey."

In the lead actor category, Spacey will face off against "Homeland's" Damian Lew...

'Episodes' Star Kathleen Rose Perkins on Season 2 and Playing The Enemy

July 1st, 2012 3:00pm EDT
Episodes
On Showtime's Episodes, Kathleen Rose Perkins is in the business of smashing people's dreams - but in real life, the Michigan native is someone that's honestly a joy to be around.

Talk about irony. As Carol Rance, the network executive working above the perpetually frustrated writers Sean and Beverly Lincoln (Stephan Mangan and Tamsin Greig) while they try to navigate the choppy waters of American television, Perkins is called upon to be almost schizophrenic. Carol is part of the faux-network machine, carrying on an affair with her boss Merc Lapidus (John Pankow) while at the same time dev...

Brittany's TCA 2011 Blog: CBS, Showtime & CW - From 'Chaos' To 'Kick-Ass'

January 18th, 2011 11:10am EST
Hawaii Five-O
After spending time getting to know FOX on Tuesday, I handled three networks a few days later. Friday at the TCAs (Television Critics Association) was devoted to CBS and its two sister networks, Showtime and The CW. All three brought their midseason shows, as well as executive sessions and a CW panel devoted to the "kick-ass" women of their various series. Here's the dish from the Eye and beyond:

CBS Executive Session

CBS President of Entertainment Nina Tassler was on the hot seat Friday morning. She was quizzed on CBS' emphasis on legal and procedural shows- what with three CSI's, two NC...

'Episodes' Advance Review: Making Fun Of The Hand That Feeds You

January 5th, 2011 10:23am EST
Episodes
My week of Showtime previews continues with a look at Episodes, the second new series that the network will debut on January 9 (the first being Shameless). Episodes focuses on a British couple named Beverly and Sean (Green Wing costars Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan) who experience culture shock when their successful UK television series is adapted for an American audience. As a fan of many British shows, several of which have been butchered in American translation - in fact, Episodes rings amusingly like the story of the Brit sitcom Coupling - I have to say this is a neat and probably ...

Returning Mid-Season Shows: What's Worth Watching?

January 4th, 2011 12:00pm EST
The new 'American Idol'
We’ve already been over what new shows are premiering mid-season. There are lots of returning favorites as well, and some promise to be some of this year’s highest-rated programs. Others are sure to be stinkers. Here’s our guide to what’s returning, and what’s worth watching.

‘V’ – ABC, Jan. 4

Starring Elizabeth Mitchell (‘LOST’) as FBI agent Erica Evans and Morena Baccarin as the leader of the visitors, this season kicks off after a long hiatus. ABC calls it “a show we’d like to run as uninterrupted as possible.” Time will tell if the long wait has dented the show’s audience. Anyo...

2011 Midseason TV: Christian Slater Tries Again & A Few 'Friends' Clones

December 29th, 2010 1:04pm EST
Christian Slater
It’s almost the new year – and you know what that means. No, it’s not time to wonder when Dick Clark is going to retire from his New Year’s Eve show. Midseason is almost upon us – and several new shows are set to premiere shortly, while other favorites are slated to return. Here’s a rundown:

'Breaking In’ – FOX – April 6

This is Christian Slater’s third attempt at a series in as many years. This go round, he’s part of a team of tech experts who are tapped to be consultants on cyber security for large corporations. Here’s hoping third time’s a charm.

'Body Of Proof’ – ABC – premie...
