As Ed looks forward to a Christmas Manhattan visit of Carol, a former classmate shows up to draw his attention elsewhere. Mike and Nancy continue to have their house rebuilt.
Carol's former student invites Carol and Ed to New York City after he is impressed with her writing samples. Dr. Jerome asks Mike to play the bad cop with visiting granddaughter in order to learn if she has what it takes to be a doctor. Warren and Mark make a new friend.
Carol maintains a precarious balance when she has to tackle both her upcoming wedding preparations and the need to have pages for a lit agent. Mike takes control of the engagement party as Ed handles a pre-nuptial case.
Ed and Carol spend time with their siblings as the wedding approaches, but Ed's brother Lloyd arrives with legal problems. Competition over illness leads to romantic sparks for Mike and Nancy.
Ed gets professional help in dealing with his conflicted emotions over his long distance relationship with Carol. Eli gets help with his feelings towards Jennifer from his physical therapist. Molly turns to Nancy for her love life helpline.
Ed brings up Carol's ire when he sneaks looks at her old love letters and then looks up their intended recipient. Ed tries to convince a historian of Stuckeyville's importance and keep someone from stopping the historic reenactment.
Death, Debt & Dating
Ed takes on a college drop-out as a client who's being sued by his father for the money wasted on his education. Mike and Nancy try to decide on who would best take care of their daughter should the worst happen by setting up test scenarios with their unknowing friends.
Happily Ever After
Carol and Ed go with a circus theme for their wedding. Warren documents Ed and Carol's story. Phil begs for a shot at performing the ceremony.
Ed puts together a special Thanksgiving for Carol. Mike is not looking forward to his parent's Thanksgiving visit. Eli hosts a Stuckybowl holiday dinner.
New Car Smell
Ed's cousing shoots a documentary on him which details the moving in process and growing pains of Ed and Carol's relationship. Warren, infatuated with the camera, decides to punk Molly.
Ed loses Carol's engagment ring to a mugger. Eli tries to convince Clay Aiken to appear on his radio station to help his boss. Mike's father shows up after being kicked out of the house by Mike's mother. After Ed's encounter with the criminal element, Phil takes it upon himself to up Stuckeybowl security.
Carol has to make a decision about the writing position offered to her in New York, weighing what effect this will have on Stuckeyville. Molly is torn between her current beau and a reckless new man in her life. Mike and Eli worry over what the loss of Ed would do to their lives.
Liz continues to interfere with Ed and Carol. Eli takes the mic on a local radio show. Mike's joyous hope for some male bonding with the foreign exchange student sharing the house with Mike and Nancy dissolves as the student takes more interest in Nancy's activities.
Back in the Saddle
Carol has second thoughts when she sees Ed help his ex-wife out with a fast food business venture. Carol is assaulted on a different front when a crush reveals himself. Eli and Jenny work on their relations.
