Johann Urb Talks '2012,' 'Eastwick,' And What It Was Like Playing A Gay 'Porn Star'
We chatted with Johann Urb, star of "Eastwick" and "2012," and found his view on life fascinating. Originally from Estonia, we discussed his roots and interests, his movie and TV work, but somehow we often went off on a tangent that we think you will enjoy as much as we did.
I watched "Eastwick" so I could get a glimpse of you before the interview. You were such a Clark Kent.
Oh, thank you! I get a lot of that. When we were shooting the pilot, Lindsay Price's mom came to visit and she goes, "You look like Superman blond." So that's my nickname. I think it's kind of funny.

New Fall TV: Keep It Or Kill It
It's that time of year. You've checked out the new shows and by now you know if you love them or hate them. Networks are either ordering additional episodes of their fledgling series or quietly letting them burn off until nobody notices they are gone. And some networks stayed cautiously conservative by looking back to previous television icons and failing miserably (we are talking to you, NBC).
Check out the crop of new series and whether we think they should stay on the air or be put out of their misery. Let us know if you agree!

Pre-Season 2009 TV Report Card: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
Since CNN has such a blast creating a report card to track the Presidency, we decided to have some fun with television. Which networks come out strong and which ones need to do better homework?
MAJOR NETWORKS
ABC: B
The Good: The dramas are what keep us coming back to ABC. Grey's Anatomy, Brothers & Sisters, FlashForward, and V are worth looking forward to. The one comedy that stands out and may hold itself against NBC's stellar comedies, Modern Family, is worth a few episodes past the pilot.
The Bad: Dancing With The Stars is extremely popular, however sometimes too much of a ...

Q&A: Rebecca Romijn Is the 'Town Slut', Cougar On ABC's 'Eastwick'
The love lives of Rebecca Romijn have always been big news. Her marriage to John Stamos gave her a hyphenated surname for a while, then their divorce brought speculation to the seemingly perfect couple. She remarried Jerry O'Connell in what was big news two years ago. Now they have twins, and she's a working mom.
ABC's Eastwick brings Romijn back to work on TV, playing the Cher role in a Witches of Eastwick TV series. Romijn already looks like a vampy sorceress only months after giving birth twice.
At a cocktail party for ABC shows, Romijn was happy to sit and chat with the press abou...

Are TV Remakes A Good Idea?
Looking at the CW's Tuesday line up, it's almost like getting a blast from the past: "90210" and "Melrose Place" on again? Is it the 90s? No, they're just two examples of the new television remakes blasting onto the screen, and they're not alone. "Eastwick," based on the "Witches of Eastwick" movie, premieres on September 23 on ABC, and "V" (premiering Nov. 3) is a remake of a canceled science fiction series. Now ABC has the rights to adapt "St. Elmo's Fire" from the popular film, and NBC is bringing back their detective drama from the 70s "The Rockford Files."

The Syfying Of Science Fiction Is Both Good & Bad
Everyone seems really into vampires lately. Sexy vampires that have steamy vampire sex with each other all the time. If not vampires than it's people with psychic abilities (Psych) or people that travel through alternate dimensions. And that's just on television. These days a major blockbuster movie can't make a return without aliens (District 9), killer robots (Transformers) or wizards (Harry Potter). We live in a time where Quentin Tarantino is playing with alternate history (Inglourious Basterds) and weepy chick flicks are about time travel (The Time Traveler's Wife).
