Television's Dearly Departed, The 11 Saddest TV Deaths Of All Ti
For most viewers, mourning the death of a favorite television character can be almost as traumatic as mourning the death of a family member. Viewers become so close to these characters over time, that they become like family. Most times, a character death is one a fan sees coming due to illness or an episode-long situation. The deaths that are most difficult to take are those fans do not see coming. In the "spirit" of great television, we honor the dearly departed characters that never saw it coming...the 11 saddest television deaths of all time.

Noah Wyle has branded his arrest at a protest on Monday "slightly surreal" and revealed his children are "really proud" of him for taking part in the demonstration.

The former ER star was led away in handcuffs after joining a demonstration on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. to protest against plans to cut America's Medicaid program.

The proposals have sparked fears many elderly and disabled people will lose at-home medical care and be forced into nursing facilities.

Wyle was among more than 100 campaigners who were detained by police at the protest, and he admits his first ever arrest...

That includes popular concluded series like ER, The West Wing, Friends, Cold Case, Smallville, Seinfeld, and Deadwood, as well as current series such as Pretty Little Liars and Southland.

Actor Chris Pine is facing legal action from his former talent agents amid allegations they're owed millions of dollars in commission.

The movie hunk landed his first acting roles in 2003, in episodes of hit TV series ER and CSI: Miami, but it wasn't until 2009 that he shot to stardom after scoring the role of Captain Kirk in director J.J. Abrams' Star Trek remake.

Brian Culbertson
Tonight VH1 concludes their countdown of The 100 Greatest Songs of the 00's. In honor of the occasion, I've compiled a much smaller list: the 5 songs that most impacted my life.

There are plenty of songs I've enjoyed, and even loved. But few are the ones that I can say have made a lasting impression. The tunes without which I wouldn't be the same person I am today. These five selections span from my youth to adulthood, from moments of joy to the brink of death and everything in between. I'm glad that I heard them, and I hope that you give them a listen.

TV On DVD: 'ER: The Final Season'

July 15th, 2011 4:00pm EDT
ER
This week, Warner Home Video brought you the fifteenth and final season of NBC's long-running medical drama ER in a twenty-two episode, five-disc set. Here's my review.

The Show

As I talked about in my previous review of the fourteenth season set, ER began to show its age in its later seasons. Season fifteen is helped by the return of many familiar faces (really, what final run would it be if the series didn't try to bring some beloved characters back?) but it's clear that at this point, it's time for the series to end. The plots occasionally stretch a little too far, with one episo...

Top Ten TV Goodbyes: Who Makes The List?

The Office Goodbye Michael
With Steve Carell leaving ‘The Office’ last month, it’s time to reflect on big goodbye episodes. I thought ‘The Office’ pulled off his departure well, although I’m not sure how I feel about the future of the show.

Here’s my top ten list of other shows that have successfully sent a character off in style. The rules: it is a true “goodbye” episode with a major character or star departing. If it happens off-screen, it doesn’t count. So that’s why I’m not including some obvious departures, such as Rhoda Morgenstern, Frank Burns, Coach Pantusso, etc.

Here they are. Do you agree?

People Who Are Awesome: Shane West

Nikita
How awesome is Shane West? He's so awesome that even though I'd already written a People Who Are Awesome column for February, I felt like I'd be doing a disservice if I didn't give him one anyway.

His performances in the Nikita episodes that aired in February were that memorable. As the plot of the freshman spy show ramped up, he took the character of Michael to a whole other level to match.

In "Coup de Grace," not only did we get to see Michael in tactical gear, but he finally started to catch on to the idea that he was being deceived. "The Last Seduction" brought us some of the most...

Classic TV Comedy Icons: Where Are They Now?

Hot In Cleveland
In the season premiere of TV Land’s ‘Hot in Cleveland,’ Betty White’s character, Elka, found herself in jail. A slim cell mate who called her “fresh meat” turned around and turned out to be none other than Mary Tyler Moore. The cameo was more a wink at the two icons’ history together, with the characters noting it had been 33 years since they’d seen each other – exactly as long as it had been since Moore and White worked together on ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show.’

This sequence made me wonder – what are all the iconic TV actors from the glory days up to? Aside from this cameo, Moore re-eme...

Typically, James Bond movies end with: "James Bond will return."

And he has. Or Pierce Brosnan has, anyway.

For the first time in 25 years, the former 007 will star in a new television series, which remains untitled for now. It comes to us from former "ER" writer Jack Orman.

The show will be a drama, and Brosnan will reportedly play a private investigator who lives in Los Angeles.

The last time Brosnan starred on a TV series was in 1982, when "Remington Steele" premiered.

While Brosnan will produce the show, he will unlikely play the lead role in order to juggle other projects.

NBC is likely getting tired of being referred to as "fourth place NBC." Last year's Jay Leno experiment was clearly a disaster and served as a boon for TBS, which won the Conan sweepstakes. Stranger things have happened. Here's a look at what new shows could make the grade and what's in store for old favorites.
