The Morning Roundup: Dr. Phil's Drunk Sex Tweet Blows Up The Internet

August 22nd, 2013 10:17am EDT
Dr. Phil
Dr. Phil asked a simple question via twitter on Tuesday as a discussion-starter for a future topic on his show and because of the way it was worded the world flipped out. The tweet, which read, "If a girl is drunk, is it ok to have sex with her? Reply yes or no to @drphil #teensaccused," went viral despite being removed shortly after, and people are now calling for the TV psych's bald head on a platter. Many consider the tweet insensitive to rape and sexual assault. A petition started on Change.org is demanding an apology, even though a rep for his show did apologize for the tweet, which wa...

Dr. Phil Under Fire Over Drunk Sex Tweet

August 21st, 2013 11:01pm EDT
CELEBNAME
Dr. Phil McGraw has come under fire for a tweet that appeared on the TV star's twitter page on Tuesday asking if it's okay to have sex with drunk girls.

The tweet, which was later removed, was intended as a discussion topic for a future episode of his show, but it backfired after numerous websites picked up and likened it to asking if rape is okay in the form of a simple yes/no question.

"If a girl is drunk, is it ok to have sex with her? Reply yes or no to @drphil #teensaccused," the message read.

A rep for the show told USA Today that the tweet was "intended to evoke discussion leading...

Authorities eventually caught up with the pair and they were handed prison sentences at a court in San Diego, California on Monday.

Interview: Snoop Dogg On The Set Of MTV's 'Dogg After Dark'

March 5th, 2009 3:04pm EST
Snoop Dogg
The President of MTV Networks recently described one superstar artist as "pushing the boundaries of hip-hop with his signature antics, incredible catalogue of music, legendary videos, larger than life personality and even a little controversy."

So, what's this particular artist's 'motherfu*king name'? Hint: He's slim with the tilted brim, frequently has his mind on his money (and yes, his money on his mind) and he's not afraid to drop it like it's hot.

In fact, it's these attributes that compel a group of reporters - yours truly among them - to the upscale Hollywood nightclub The ...

'The Hills': A Lo Down Dirty Shame

May 6th, 2008 9:07am EDT
The Hills
Lo, Lo, Lo. Maybe it was because Lo and LC were always up against the delightfully devious Kristin on Laguna Beach, but Lo always seemed as sweet as cinnamon and sugar toast. She was the most precious voice of reason, like having Dr. Phil wrapped up in the persona of petite, southern California beach bunny.

With the advent of "Shifty Lo," however, all sense of nostalgia has gone by the wayside. The theme for this mini-season of The Hills seems to be the constant shifting of alliances between friends and would-be family, but ironically, after all of these wild swings, no relationsh...

Top 10 MADtv Actors

Dan Chruscinski
Previously filmed in Los Angeles, it's Saturday night. Never quite catching on with the same fervor as its New York competition, MADtv has still carved a niche for itself appealing to a younger demographic who favor repeat characters and dead-on celebrity impersonations over topical sketches. Like Saturday Night Live though, "MADtv" has had some fantastic cast members during its 13-year tenure as well as some real clunkers. Why focus on the bad though when we can celebrate the good. Some of these actors have gone on to mediocre careers; others still remain stuck in obscurity. Here are the ...

When Enough Is Enough: Worst TV Spin-Offs

February 26th, 2008 2:21pm EST
Saved by the Bell: The New Class
The logic behind the spin-off is very sound. Take a beloved character or concept from a pre-existing series and create an entire new show. You have an established character or brand and thus a built-in fan base. It makes perfect sense, no?

Unfortunately, the reality of the situation is not quite that simple. Certainly there have been spin-offs that attracted both fans and critics and managed to create a legacy all their own. Shows like "Frasier," "Angel," and "The Jeffersons" instantly come to mind. But for every successful spin-off, there have been dozens of miserable failures...

Trashy Reality Shows Feature Drunken Escapades, Showmances & More

Rock of Love
Reality TV is an obsession. It's not just typical of American culture, either. Many countries delight in humiliating common folks. That, of course, is the allure. It could be any of us. It could be your sister or brother on TV, hooking up with two people while being broadcast in night vision. Or it could be you.

Following are some of the trashiest and most salacious offerings you can currently find on TV. When is the writers' strike over? Oh, that's right. Guess I'll keep watching.

The King of Trash, in my opinion. I love this show, and I am sad to report that I st...
