The teenage actress who voiced the popular children's cartoon character Dora The Explorer has lost an appeal to dismiss an out-of-court settlement she previously reached with TV producers after insisting she was "duped" into taking a bad deal.

In 2010, Caitlin Sanchez launched a $10 million legal battle against Nickelodeon bosses, claiming she and her parents were handed "unconscionable" documents to sign when she accepted the role of Dora in 2007 and insisting they were cornered into agreeing to the terms without the help of a lawyer.

Alan Cumming Lands Voiceover Role On 'Dora The Explorer'

Scottish actor Alan Cumming is has landed a cameo role on hit children's cartoon series Dora the Explorer.

The X2 star was recently invited to lend his talents to the popular Nickelodeon TV franchise and Cumming tested out his talents during a voiceover session on Wednesday morning, although he has yet to share details about his animated character with fans.

In a post, he writes, "I did it! Voiced a Dora the Explorer episode, even sang a song!"

Cumming's debut on Dora The Explorer will air later this year.

Pop superstar Shakira has tested her creative skills by writing a Dora The Explorer children's book for charity.

The Hips Don't Lie hit-maker has penned a story as part of the popular Nickelodeon franchise and the proceeds will go to her Pies Descalzo Foundation, which helps provide education for needy kids across the globe.

She says, "Dora is an inspiration for all children in the world. It was an honor working with Nickelodeon to write this story as education is a cause very close to my heart."

Former Guns N' Roses rocker Slash is showing his softer side by teaming up with Nickelodeon to design a Dora The Explorer backpack for charity.

The Velvet Revolver star has been hired by bosses at the children's TV company to help launch a series of limited edition celebrity-designed bag, which will go up for auction this summer to raise money for the Children's Defense Fund.

Nickelodeon recently launched "Dora the Explorer's" 10th Anniversary with a new campaign for preschoolers called "Beyond The Backpack", which will see Salma Hayek featured in a new PSA to help promote school readiness for the young'uns.

The Mexican beauty will also be creating a series of limited edition backpacks, that you'll never be able to afford, for auction later this year. NBC Leads Television Critics Association Nominations

The Television Critics Association today unveiled its 2007 TCA Award nominations. Once again, NBC leads the list with 13 nominations on the strength of its strong freshmen series, including, "30 Rock," "Friday Night Lights" and "Heroes," which garnered 12 nominations total. Third-year comedy "The Office" received the other nod.
