The 15 Sexiest Sci-Fi Women On Television
Sci-fi shows have a lot to offer - intriguing storylines, alien encounters, paranormal activity and, more often than not, beautiful women.

Today's sci fi is no longer geared to just nerds and homebodies. With compelling story threads, many tune in to find out what happens to the characters each week. But having a little eye candy doesn't hurt either.

Who makes our list of the sexiest sci-fi stars on television?

Valerie Stahl (Minka Kelly) from Almost Human (2013-)

FOX's "Almost Human" is a police drama set 35 years in the future, when police officers are partnered with highly evolved h...

Q&A: Dance-Pop Sensation Kimberly Cole On Music, Acting and Twitter

4/19/2012 4:15am EDT
Kimberly Cole
When my friend Jesse Blaze Snider had great things to say about Kimberly Cole during our recent interview, I was curious to meet her. I have a great respect for him, so if he admired her, I figured she was a person I ought to meet.

I wasn't disappointed. Like Jesse, Kimberly is a multi-talented performer, having been not only a musician, but also an actress, TV hostess and competitive roller skater. That's not just multiple talents, but that's a lot of very different skills to learn.

Beyond that, though, she has a wonderful personality that defines the word "bubbly." She's an avid socia...

Eliza Dushku Quits Her New TV Series

12/7/2010 5:14pm EST
Eliza Dushku
Eliza Dushku has walked away from her latest TV project following a dispute over "creative differences".

The Dollhouse star was due to return to the small screen in a new series called Bird Dog, about a female New York City cop who teams up with her policeman father.

However, the actress has announced she's left the project just a month after signing up, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

In a post on her page, she writes, "Hey guys! News to report. We have mutually & amicably decided to part ways on Bird Dog due to creative differences. No worries/fears/tears!"

Joss Whedon To Direct 'The Avengers'?

4/14/2010 9:01am EDT
Joss Whedon
Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon is close to signing a deal to direct The Avengers film, according to reports.

Bosses at Marvel have been hunting for a moviemaker to oversee the highly-anticipated superhero outing, which will see Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor and Captain America team up on the big screen.

Iron Man director Jon Favreau disappointed fans last year by confirming he would only be acting as executive producer and not taking full control of the film's direction.

However, Whedon - who also created hit shows Angel and Dollhouse - is ready to sign on to head up the bloc...

Whedon Gives Satisfying Conclusion In 'Dollhouse' Series Finale

2/1/2010 11:39am EST
Dollhouse finale
Well, here it is. The end of "Dollhouse." Let's talk for a minute about this doomed-to-start-with show. A lot of fans want to blame FOX solely because of how the studio has canceled two of Joss Whedon's shows. They certainly did not give it much of a chance by putting it on Friday at the death slot, but they did give it two seasons and some reasonable marketing to try and get a bigger audience. It never had the ratings, and let's face it, the first season wasn't as good as it should have been. Most of the first episodes were weak, and you could argue that it was from FOX changing Whedon's "...

'Dollhouse' Recap: The Hollow Men

1/18/2010 10:15am EST
There was a bit of exciting news this week for Joss Whedon fans, since it seems he is meeting with FX to discuss the possibility of a show. "Dollhouse" lovers should not get their hopes up; it is not likely to be this show, even if that would be kind of exciting. Fans have always said that Whedon should try cable networks, although Sci-Fi honestly would be the best choice for him. Still, this could mean good things for the Whedonites ... but "Dollhouse" is almost dead. And like the past eight episodes or so, the show enjoys making us regret every second of its demise by being fantastic. And...

'Dollhouse' Recap: The Evil Mastermind Is Revealed

1/11/2010 10:27am EST
Joss Whedon has a fiercely loyal and loving fanbase, and it is occasionally an abusive relationship. He likes to destroy characters that the fans love so the pain is fresh and unique, and he likes to throw twists at us that stab our hearts. It happened all the time on "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," like when Buffy had to stab Angel, or Tara was shot through the window, or in "Angel" when Fred was turned into Illyria or Doyle sacrificed his life, or then in "Serenity" when Wash became a victim of the Reavers, and finally when the only sweet character in "Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" was accid...

TV Wishlist for 2010
2009 is officially ending and 2010 is beginning. What this year means for the entertainment world is anyone's guess, but there will probably be some blockbusters, some brilliant indie films, a few surprises and disappointments, and then excitement for the following year. On television there have been some great new shows, such as "Glee" and "Modern Family," and some older shows that are going strong, like "24" and "Criminal Minds." But every once and awhile fans have to think about what little things they'd change in their favorite shows, and here's a look at a TV Wishlist for 2010.

'Dollhouse' Is Focused On An End Point

12/21/2009 1:22pm EST
Well wonderful, "Dollhouse" continues to give the best episodes in its short lived two seasons now that it is canceled. The world is an unfair place. Last week was the last double episode night featured, and from there there are only three episodes left. Depressed? I am getting there now that the show is clearly focused on an end point and everyone is acting to their best. The first of the two episodes centers on Victor, which is exciting since he's the best actor on the show and we've been teased with glimpses of his background.

Victor is actually Anthony, a PTSD-suffering soldier from ...

Joss Whedon Working Hard To Make Fans Miss 'Dollhouse'

12/14/2009 10:26am EST
You and me are through "Dollhouse." It's not fair that you've become simply awesome now that the show is canceled. Last week was another double episode feature for Joss Whedon's latest creation, and he's working hard to make the audience miss it. Way to make it hurt, Joss. These episodes feature the return of Alpha, Echo's emerging personality, and a tragic possible end to a major character.

Echo is now out in the world on her own, but she is in a doll state and therefore confused and naive. She sees a Mexican woman being refused from a grocery store and steals food to give it to her. T...

'Dollhouse' Recap: 'Meet Jane Doe/A Love Supreme'

12/5/2009 9:14pm EST
So "Dollhouse" is back, but only as long as it takes them to get out the rest of the season since it has officially been canceled. The hilarious part of this is that they aired two episodes last week, and both were exceptionally well done. The show is finally getting it together just as it is canceled. How wonderfully cruel. Rather than do two recaps of the episodes, they basically blend together so this will be one big recap. Ready? Ready! Did I fall asleep?

Senator Perrin, aka the delicious Alexis Denisof, is making an aggressive push against the Rossum company and the Dollhouse. He go...

'Dollhouse' Recap: 'Belonging'

10/27/2009 7:24am EDT
So bad news and slightly less bad news, "Dollhouse" fans. The very few of you there are out there besides me. The show is most certainly headed for a real cancellation this time, and it has been pulled from November sweeps entirely. This means the next episode will not be airing until December, and the current plan is to put the remaining episodes together in two-hour events. It would be nice to see all thirteen episodes before it is cut off altogether, however, and I appreciate that FOX is attempting to at least air them rather than simply give up altogether. We did all see this coming, es...

'Dollhouse' Recap: 'Belle Chose'

10/12/2009 8:35am EDT
Fox has a history of messing with Joss Whedon shows, and while they respectfully gave him a second season for "Dollhouse," they still enjoy mixing up his episodes. Last week's episode 'Belle Chose' was supposed to be the second week, but they pushed it to the third instead. Why? Honestly I have no idea. This is a far superior episode to last week's Crazy Mama scenario, and it makes a lot more sense since it gets into Ballard's trouble with being a handler. What's done is done, but this episode is a sign that the show is picking up.

It starts out introducing the audience to a very creepy...

'Dollhouse' Recap: Echo Gets 'Hand That Rocks The Cradle' Crazy

10/5/2009 8:35am EDT
"Dollhouse" is only in its second episode in the new season, and already there are worrisome rumors about its inevitable cancellation. It was a shock to everyone that it was renewed at all, but the ratings have only dropped more significantly since the second season began. We fans are in a dire position again, so that means you people have to start watching it. Do it! Okay? Promise? Cool.

Things get a little intense in last week's episode of "Dollhouse" because Topher decides it is great to start twisting the Dolls around even more than usual. Echo has a new assignment and it's a step up...

'Dollhouse' Season 2 Premiere: A Great Opening To A New Season

9/28/2009 9:07am EDT
Well, as everyone expected, Joss Whedon's new show "Dollhouse" was canceled by Fox after just one season, causing fans to go completely crazy and ... what? Wait, it didn't get canceled? What is this madness you speak of? They put it on the Friday death slot and it barely had any viewers! There's magic in the air, and "Dollhouse" fans were given their biggest Christmas wish: one more season of this increasingly strong show. It had ups and downs in the first year, but by the second half things were ironing out and the return of Alpha was truly delightful. Now it's time to get back inside and ...

Pre-Season 2009 TV Report Card: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

9/21/2009 12:30pm EDT
Desperate Housewives
Since CNN has such a blast creating a report card to track the Presidency, we decided to have some fun with television. Which networks come out strong and which ones need to do better homework?

The Good: The dramas are what keep us coming back to ABC. Grey's Anatomy, Brothers & Sisters, FlashForward, and V are worth looking forward to. The one comedy that stands out and may hold itself against NBC's stellar comedies, Modern Family, is worth a few episodes past the pilot.

The Bad: Dancing With The Stars is extremely popular, however sometimes too much of a ...

The Syfying Of Science Fiction Is Both Good & Bad

8/29/2009 2:00pm EDT
True Blood
Everyone seems really into vampires lately. Sexy vampires that have steamy vampire sex with each other all the time. If not vampires than it's people with psychic abilities (Psych) or people that travel through alternate dimensions. And that's just on television. These days a major blockbuster movie can't make a return without aliens (District 9), killer robots (Transformers) or wizards (Harry Potter). We live in a time where Quentin Tarantino is playing with alternate history (Inglourious Basterds) and weepy chick flicks are about time travel (The Time Traveler's Wife).

Science fiction ...

TV Honorees That Should Get Their First Shot At Emmy Nominations

6/10/2009 12:02pm EDT
Aaron Paul
Yesterday, we went over the Emmy nominees who have overstayed their welcome. Those perennial TV honorees that simply don't deserve the recognition they once did or, in some cases, never did at all.

So if they're out, who's in? Surely, there can't be too many nominees waiting in the wings. After all, television professionals choose these awards; they can't possibly leave out any substantial number of qualified candidates in favor of perennial duds.

Unfortunately, that's the way it is. Voters simply don't like to change their ways with regards to voting. It almost seems that a ...

DVD Versus Blu-ray: Enjoying A Film At Its Best

6/3/2009 9:00am EDT
One can only assume the somewhat recent onslaught of the "need" for Blu-ray comes only from a desire to have people buy films and television show sets over again. After having to update a copy of 'Sneakers' from VHS tape to DVD, a completely reasonable choice, the buck stops here. Yes, the technology is interesting at best, but it is brutally frustrating at worst.

The problem is not with the players, although they are extremely expensive still and the best player is still the one that comes in the PlayStation 3, the problem instead lies way back in the beginning of the cycle - the ...

Today's Best TV Villains - Who's Your Favorite?

5/19/2009 9:22am EDT
The idea of the villain is one that has existed as long as stories have been told. Whether it is a step-mother who wishes to destroy her husband's beautiful child, or a Shakespearean antagonist with a silver tongue who convinces a man to murder his own wife, they are as important as the protagonists that they torture. Yin to the main characters' yang, the villains can be evil, misunderstood, cruel, funny, charming, cold, or silly, but they provide a much needed balance to any given story.

Over the years television has had a wide variety of villains, but Starpulse decided to take a loo...
