Teri Hatcher has landed her first job since filming on Desperate Housewives came to an end - she will make her directorial debut in TV comedy Jane By Design.

Hatcher and her fellow Housewives filmed their final scenes last week, but the actress has wasted no time in getting her next gig.

She will enjoy a recurring role on the ABC Family series, playing the estranged mother of Erica Dasher's lead character Jane. She will also get behind the camera to direct four episodes of the show, which premiered in January.
