Check Out 'Vampire Diaries' This Thursday On The CW

9/9/2009 10:53am EDT
The Vampire Diaries
Has anyone else noticed that vampires are getting very, very trendy? There was a time in the 90s when Anne Rice's "Interview With the Vampire" came out and that inspired some great new versions of the old monster tale. Then there was "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" that brought pop culture and vampire horror together in a hilarious high school drama kind of way, and that show's spin off "Angel" continued the legacy.

Lately vampires have been booming in a big way thanks to "Twilight" and "True Blood," and now there's a new series coming to the CW for vamp-fans to salivate over. "The Vampire D...

The Sensational Won Over The CW: A Look at The Network's New 2009 Fall Shows

9/3/2009 9:40am EDT
The Beautiful Life
The first thing that struck me when the creators of The Beautiful Life addressed a crowd of bloggers who just watched their episode one cutdown (a hype package full of fast cuts, pretty people, and loud music) was how much producer Karey Burke looks like Leslie Mann. She could be on this show as one of the model mentors! The second thing was that executive producer Mike Kelley, who also worked on The O.C., wasn't going to give us the truth behind Mischa Barton's troubles because he was still giddy over being called "airport guy" in paparazzi shots of her returning to New York to shoot the s...

TV Reunions We'd Like To See

8/28/2009 10:02am EDT
Party Of Five
We all have our favorite shows, especially the ones we used to beg mom and dad to let us stay up and watch. Or the shows we watched with our friends every week and discussed the next day in school because it was the most exciting event in our lives. Most of these shows are played in syndication, but the true fans want to know what's going on with our favorite characters now.

Here are the top shows that we'd love to see do reunion specials:

It's been 20 years since "Saved by the Bell," TV's first live-action Saturday morning sitcom debuted. The show started as "Good Morning, Miss Blis...

Actors Who Have Transitioned From TV To Film

8/25/2009 10:00am EDT
Jennifer Garner
For some actors, it is hard to make the crucial transition into film as a television star. Especially if you are typecast as a certain character and most people can't think of you as anyone else (for example, Matt LeBlanc as Joey on Friends). Television actors put their careers on the line when they leave their steady jobs to branch out into the film world, and they either make it or they don't. Here are the top television stars who managed to hold their own in the film world.

Will Smith- Before he was one of the top A-list movie stars, Will Smith was known as the Banks' troublemaking co...

'Vampire Diaries' Creator Is Excited And Energized For The New CW Series

8/21/2009 10:00am EDT
Vampire Diaries
With vampires all the rage with the kids these days, it makes sense for The CW to get into the vampire romance business. Luckily there was another series of vampire books they could turn into their series, The Vampire Diaries. Produced by Dawson's Creek creator Kevin Williamson, this is not just another teen drama. While it is about a teenage girl who falls in love with a vampire, Williamson said the show is more about small town secrets than high school romance.

"The town wakes up to [the vampires] relatively quick and tries to do something about it," Williamson said. "We don't know exa...

Why is Katie Holmes Still Famous?

8/19/2009 11:51am EDT
Katie Holmes
Katie Holmes owes her career to "Dawson's Creek," cut her real acting teeth in "The Ice Storm," embarrassed herself in movies like "Disturbing Behavior," didn't embarrass herself in "Thank You for Smoking, and even tried her hand at Broadway. But she has yet to do anything that warrants the media's massive favoritism and fixation on her (other than being a very convenient excuse for Tom Cruise, ahem).

Is it her looks?

Some may argue that her looks have gotten her to where she is and kept her there. She did pursue modeling prior to her work as an actress. But take a look at Katie durin...

'Medium' Recap: 'All in the Family'

4/8/2009 1:44pm EDT
"Medium" was especially great this week because it featured several well known guest stars, including Amanda Detmer (Final Destination) as Joe's sister Sarah, James Van Der Beek (Dawson's Creek) as potential villain Dylan, and Morena Baccarin (Firefly) as potential villain/victim Brooke. Way to bring it on with the excellent guest stars, "Medium!"

This episode is all about family; the fights they have, the love underneath, and sometimes the lack of love that causes problems. Allison dreams of a stranger, who turns out to be the woman Brooke, convincing her youngest daughter to shoot bo...

An Interview With Kerr Smith Of 'My Bloody Valentine 3-D'

1/19/2009 2:12pm EST
Kerr Smith
As I sit down with Kerr Smith (Dawson's Creek, E-Ring) to talk about his latest project, a foray into feature film with the genre slasher flick My Bloody Valentine 3-D, I want to tell him that I was shocked and awed by the "not your parents' 3-D" that he is so animatedly plugging and that he brought something special to a normally one-note type of character. Well, at least the latter is true.

Smith is a veteran TV actor who, in his early twenties, moved out to New York to basically give himself "five years to see what [I] could do." He spent about six months in accounting classes bef...
