A particularly stylish episode, "Black Dog Serenade" focuses on Jet's past and the truth about his lost arm. Fad, his former partner in the Inter Solar System Police (ISSP), wants to get back together to capture a renegade prison ship. Jet believes that Udai, the main criminal on the prison ship, is responsible for his arm, so he agrees to go along. This episode is an homage to film noir gangster films. The title refers to Jet's nickname in the ISSP ("black dog") and possibly to the blues tune recorded by the mysterious Blind Blake, &"Black Dog Blues." Andrea LeVasseur, All Movie Guide
