Walking back the Cat
Brenda and her squad are temporarily deputized into the FBI when a missing person case turns into a full-blown murder investigation involving drug trafficking at gay dance parties. The case gives Brenda and Fritz the chance to work together again, but her investigative tactics don't exactly fit FBI protocol.
Brenda and the team are called in to investigate the questionable disappearance of a shady financial investor. The team is a mess with Daniels now in another division, Gabriel doing double duty, and Provenza with behavior more curious than usual.
Sgt. Gabriel shoots a murder suspect he is certain is armed and firing at him, but the evidence does not match up with his account. Enter Capt. Sharon Raydor, the head of the Force Investigation Division, whose responsibility is to investigate the shooting. But Raydor's investigation is interfering with Brenda's investigation into the murder, which may have been ethnically motivated.

When Brenda's squad investigates the quadruple murder of a family, she accidentally stumbles into the middle of an FBI investigation that may have been a factor in the homicide. Meanwhile, Provenza's ebullient mood has suddenly turned sour.
Dead Man's Hand
Capt. Raydor approaches Major Crimes about delicately looking into a possible case of spousal abuse involving one of her female officers. On the home front, Fritz becomes increasingly irritated at feeling ignored by Brenda.
Brenda's team investigates the shooting death of a popular online "hook-up king" who was in the process of putting together a television pilot for a men's cable network. Meanwhile, Pope does a rotation as a regular member of Brenda's squad.

A woman is stabbed to death by someone wearing a ninja outfit. A detective arrives from El Paso investigating a smiliar crime. Brenda's Father comes to bring her niece back to Atlanta.

A major shootout leaves two patrol cops and an 18-year-old boy dead with lots of unanswered questions as to what happened and who else might have been involved. The investigation is made all the more difficult by the involvement of Capt. Sharon Raydor of the Force Investigation Division.
The discrediting of a crime lab frequently used by the LAPD brings several old cases up for review, including one Provenza closed seven years ago with his former partner.
The team works on solving the death of a 12 year who had family members in a gang. Meanwhile, Brenda gets a kitten.
Smells like Murder
The team digs through several suspects that surface after a man's body is found inside an oversized box. Brenda finds the case the perfect platform to play the role of teacher to Gabriel as he prepares for his detective exam.
Brenda's squad investigates the murder of a former gang banger, but the evidence indicates he may not have been the target. The case leads Brenda on a return trip to the doorstep of Father Jack and the Crenshaw Community Center, where an upset neighborhood is convinced the LAPD doesn't care about stifling crime in the area. It's up to Brenda to prove otherwise.
Caught in the crossfire of a shootout, two people end up dead and one remains in critical condition. Now Brenda and the team must figure out the the intended crime and the intended victim in order to determine the perpetrator.
