'Battlestar Galactica' Spin-Off 'Caprica' To Premiere Exclusively On DVD April 21

Sci Fi Channel Greenlights 'Battlestar Galactica' Prequel Series 'Caprica'

Sci Fi Channel has greenlit production on the new original series Caprica, ordering 20 hours of the drama including the two-hour pilot, it was announced today by Dave Howe, President, Sci Fi. Caprica is the prequel to Sci Fi's hit original series Battlestar Galactica and stars Eric Stoltz (Milk, Chicago Hope), Esai Morales (Jericho, NYPD Blue), Paula Malcomson (Deadwood, ER) and Golden Globe nominee Polly Walker (Cane, Rome).

We're a few weeks into the new fall season, and I have to say that I am a little disappointed. Many new shows seemed promising, but I just haven't seen one that could be a runaway hit.

After only two weeks into the fall season some are already in danger of being canceled. TV fans should get ready to start campaigning for their favorites before they disappear forever.

The majority of new series have been dropping in the ratings. In fact, none of the new shows have even cracked the Nielsen top 10. However, "Bionic Woman" and "Private Practice" did make it into the top 15.

Independent media agency TargetCast tcm has picked five new network shows they think will be hits, along with the five they think will fall to the bottom of the heap as the primetime season begins in a week.

The Fanjul family has concluded discussions with CBS about its new Fall series, "Cane," following media speculation about the possibility of similarities between the family and the characters of the fictional series.

"CBS has given us assurances that it will be clear from watching early and subsequent episodes that 'Cane' is not about the Fanjuls, and that the fictional Duque family will not reflect the Fanjul family members or its businesses," said Joseph P. CBS Announces 2007-2008 Premiere Dates

CBS today announced plans for the premieres of its new and returning series which includes the early debut of its freshman reality series "Kid Nation," as well as "Survivor: China" and most of its Sunday lineup during the week of Sept. 17. The Network will launch the remainder of its schedule beginning Monday, Sept. 24, the official start of the 2007-2008 season.

CBS's new reality series "Kid Nation" premieres Wednesday, Sept. 19 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) followed the next night with the debut of "Survivor: China," Thursday, Sept. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).
