A Vegas showgirl named Michelle reluctantly marries a charming small town guy named Hubbell and moves back to his hometown. Michelle tries to navigate the local social scene and deal with her husband's challenging mother, Fanny. Michelle helps out the students at Fanny's ballet studio, including a shy girl named Boo. But when Hubbell dies suddenly, Michelle's word is thrown into chaos.
Both Michelle and fanny are in a daze after Hubbell's death. Boo feels bad that the girls saw a movie to 'grieve" for Hubbell. Fanny fixates on creating the perfect memorial. Michelle confronts Fanny about not including her. Michelle has the girls do a dance honoring Hubbell for Fanny. Both women learn that Hubbell left Michelle everything in his will.

Truly helps Michelle set up the guest house. Sasha steals money to buy Boo new ballet shoes. Fanny is upset when the Joffrey considers moving auditions elsewhere.
