Summary:
A dramatization of the historic mid-50s public bus boycott that played a pivotal role in the Civil Rights movement. In Montgomery, Alabama, on December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks, exhausted after a long day at work, refused to give up her seat to a white man in the "whites only" section of a city bus. Mrs. Parks was then arrested and jailed. Her courage and defiance inspired a young minister named Martin Luther King, Jr. and a group of other black leaders to organize the Montgomery bus boycott, one of the most successful non-violent protests in American History.
