Boss
Season two of Starz' razor-sharp political drama Boss is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD. To mark the occasion, BFTV checked in with the charming and talented Jeff Hephner, who played ambitious politico Ben Zajac on the award-winning series. Jeff told us what stands out to him about season two - and reflected on the show's unfortunate cancellation afterward.

"The show took a big turn," he said of the transition between seasons. "We had a sweeping epic going, and [in] season two, I think we get a little more into the emotional development of all of the characters. You start to get a little...

Actor Kelsey Grammer's TV series Boss has been cancelled.

The political drama earned Grammer a 2012 Best Actor Golden Globe Award for his portrayal of fictional Chicago Mayor Tom Kane, but the show is destined to be short-lived.

Executives at cable TV network Starz have decided not to renew the program for a third season due to low ratings.

A statement from the studio reads: "After much deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to not proceed with Boss. We remain proud of this award-winning show, its exceptional cast and writers, and are grateful to Kelsey Grammer, (creator) F...

Q&A: Jeff Hephner Talks 'Boss' And His TV Fandom

October 14th, 2011 11:45am EDT
Boss
Something must be going right for Boss: Starz renewed the Kelsey Grammer-led political drama for season two well before next Friday's series premiere. I recently sat down with star Jeff Hephner to find out what's so intriguing about Chicago politics and how his character, Ben Zajac, fits into the picture.

Ben is an idealist, who grew up in Chicago and whose passion for his hometown caused him to leave a lucrative law career for the murky world of public service. His charisma is not scripted; it's courtesy of Hephner, who is as affable and charming as they come. If that's not ende...

Boss
Kelsey Grammer is returning to TV in a different role than you’re used to seeing him. Boss is a political drama in which Grammer plays a corrupt politician. The change of public image was inspired by Grammer’s publicized personal struggles, he admits.

“Honestly, I actually just took a break for a while,” Grammer said. “There were a lot of reasons I did but in the last couple of years I decided I needed to make a life change, honestly. You’re all familiar with what’s gone on in my personal life. Maybe not the details because I don’t talk about them, but I will say this.”

Grammer is now div...
