Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis' cult comedy Bored to Death has been axed by TV bosses after three seasons.

HBO executives have also dropped Thomas Jane's Hung and How to Make it in America, the comedy/drama executive produced by Mark Wahlberg, due to poor ratings.

Network officials announced the cancellations on Tuesday.

The scheduling gaps will be filled by a slew of new programs, including Dustin Hoffman's horseracing drama Lucky and Ricky Gervais' Life's Too Short.

Reacting to the news, How to Make It in America star Bryan Greenberg writes on Twitter.com, "Thank ...

Ted Danson Gives His Thoughts On Joining The Cast Of 'CSI'

September 20th, 2011 4:00pm EDT
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
There’s no stopping the CSI juggernaut, not even the loss of the lead investigator. When Grissom (William Petersen) left, Langston (Laurence Fishburne) was there to lead the team. Now he’s left and D.B. Russell (Ted Danson) is leading the crime scene investigators of Las Vegas.

We’ve seen Danson get serious recently as Arthur Frobisher in Damages. He’s still most famous as a comedian, in Cheers, Becker and still Curb Your Enthusiasm and Bored to Death. Danson left his Martha’s Vineyard summer home early to get to work on CSI and speak with the Television Critics Association about it thi...

Will Audiences Get Tired Of Zach Galifianakis?

October 7th, 2010 9:39am EDT
funny story
This weekend, Zach Galifianak is will appear in “It’s Kind of a Funny Story,” number two of three films to come out in the second half of 2010. “Funny Story” is definitely a departure for Galifianakis who is given a chance to show a more serious and somber side of himself as a patient in the psychiatric ward of a hospital who is estranged from his only daughter. Then, next month, he will co-star with Robert Downey, Jr. in “Due Date” from Todd Phillips, the director of “The Hangover.”

Fans of Galifianakis’ stand-up are aware that he has been performing as a part of the alternative comedy mo...

September 21st, 2009 12:30pm EDT
Desperate Housewives
Since CNN has such a blast creating a report card to track the Presidency, we decided to have some fun with television. Which networks come out strong and which ones need to do better homework?

MAJOR NETWORKS

ABC: B

The Good: The dramas are what keep us coming back to ABC. Grey's Anatomy, Brothers & Sisters, FlashForward, and V are worth looking forward to. The one comedy that stands out and may hold itself against NBC's stellar comedies, Modern Family, is worth a few episodes past the pilot.

The Bad: Dancing With The Stars is extremely popular, however sometimes too much of a ...

Ted Danson Is The Best Thing About HBO's Disappointing 'Bored To Death'

September 18th, 2009 10:46am EDT
Bored to Death
HBO's unconventional new comedy Bored to Death, starring Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis, left us feeling a little bored. The show has great potential with a brilliant cast, but it failed to get us hooked. We're not ready to throw away the show all together, however. Here's hoping the remaining episodes will have stronger dialogue and more guts.

The show succeeds in originality with the main character doing freelance detective work, which gives the cast a lot to play with. But it seems to come up empty sometimes. Jason plays Jonathan Ames, a young Brooklyn writer who...

Heather Burns Discusses The New HBO Series 'Bored To Death'

September 17th, 2009 11:00am EDT
Heather Burns
Bored to Death is a promising new HBO comedy that stars an excellent cast of comedic players in the form of Jason Schwartzman (The Darjeeling Limited, Rushmore), Ted Danson (Cheers), Zach Galifianakis (Hangover) and Heather Burns (Two Weeks Notice, Miss Congeniality). We recently had the pleasure of talking with the main players, Heather Burns, and here's what she had to say about Bored to Death.

Eric Stromsvold: Based off of the trailers it appears as though you're playing a character named Leah, who is Ray's girlfriend. What else is going on there?

Heather Burns: Well, she's Ray's...
