Bones Explores Some Facts In The Fiction

3/11/2013 5:46pm EDT
Bones TV series
The show got off to an excellent start. Not only did a farmer run over a headless corpse that had been quite ravaged by time and wolves, but Booth informed Bones he was interested in investing asteroid mining. Honestly, I call that a quality start to anything other than Saturday morning cartoons!

Booth has it all figured out. The company needs about $2 billion in seed money to go round up approximately $50 billion in platinum. The conversation at the diner was going swimmingly well until a bloody and bruised somebody burst into the diner hollering for Bones, and reached into his bag tellin...

'Bones' And A Friend In Need

2/21/2013 7:40am EST
While many of the opening scenes of Bones can be classified as gruesome, this particular opening featured the remains of a body stuffed into a suitcase; seriously gruesome.

While I wouldn't call gruesome openings a pet peeve of mine, I do have major issues with people helping me with crossword puzzles, as though I need anyone's help after several challenging hours of staring at silly clues. Still, don't help me!

I was going crazy watching Bones hovering like a helicopter parent as Booth struggled, like someone else I know, to solve even the simplest clues. I wanted to jump through the TV ...

'Bones' Takes A Shot In The Dark

2/15/2013 7:25am EST
Bones Takes A Shot In The Dark
Here's the upshot of this episode of Bones: Temperance gets shot while working late at the lab and a personal journey of discovery transpires as she carries on a conversation with her dead mother (Brooke Langton).

Rewind the clock a few minutes before getting shot, we see Bones and Booth arguing at home with Booth telling her she's not spontaneous enough. Isn't this always how it happens? Get into a fight, say some mean things you wished you hadn’t, one of your storms out to go for a walk or back to the office, and something dreadful happens. I really felt for Booth, emotionally, on every...

'Bones' Star Emily Deschanel Previews 'The Shot in the Dark'

2/11/2013 10:30am EST
Tonight's episode of Bones, "The Shot in the Dark," is a major one for the long-running FOX series. After an incident in the Jeffersonian lab, Dr. Temperance Brennan gets a chance to come face-to-face with her past, quite literally. BFTV recently spoke with Brennan herself, star Emily Deschanel, about what happens in "The Shot in the Dark" and what it means for Brennan, Booth and audiences.

(SPOILER ALERT - This interview contains spoilers for tonight's episode of Bones.)

"After watching the episode, I think that viewers will have a better idea of why Brennan behaves in the way that she d...

'Bones' Cracks Skulls At The Roller Derby

2/5/2013 8:26pm EST
Who knew roller derby could be so brutal? Okay, we all knew, but not like this. Not all dismembered like, ya know?

It was a messy start to this week's episode of Bones on Fox Television. It's not every day that a dismembered roller derby competitor is discovered. Even for Bones this was a bit of a gory start, but I guess it kind of had to start this way if we were ever going to see Angela on a roller derby team.

That's right; Angela goes undercover as fresh meat into the world of hip-whips, jammers, helmet panties, and pivots. What's really fun for viewers of episodes like this one is get...

'Bones' Has A Twist In Its Plot

1/29/2013 2:52pm EST
I dare you to tell me there's a better way to start an episode of Bones than some geeks falling off their Segways into a pile of flesh-eating bugs devouring a human carcass. Oh, and thrown in for good measure is Daisy (Carla Gallo) working her first case since she and Sweets called it quits. Or, if you prefer like I do, Sweets agonizing over the prospect of inadvertently running into Daisy as he works this case.

Either way, it was a cracking good start to the episode, and that's all that matters!

On a more serious note, this episode starts off with a very interesting crime. The body fou...

'Bones,' Corpses, And Canopies 'Oh My!'

1/23/2013 3:47pm EST
When babies cry at night we wake up and take care of their needs. When they cry at night because a skinned corpse is hanging from the ceiling, we still wake up but WOW our heart is racing!

And so the new episode of Bones opens and Hodgins and Angela are immediately part of the action. The thought, of course, is Christopher Pelant (Andrew Leeds) is back with a vengeance. If you'll remember back just one season, Pelant (or Bassam Alfayat, if you prefer) is a serial killer who framed Bones for murder.

Pelant's character represents the worst of humanity but he's also brilliant, which makes hi...

'Bones' Is A Diamond In The Rough

1/17/2013 10:29am EST
After a six week hiatus—or should we say we haven't seen "Bones" since last year—our favorite forensics science show is finally back where it belongs: in your living rooms! In fact, it's back in a big way with a two-hour mid-season special as a way of saying, "Thanks for enduring without us during the college football bowl season."

From the very first scene, there's no question the hiatus is over.  Sweets (John Francis Daley) is watching a television reality show about ghost hunting when the hunter finds what looks to be one of the incredible apparitions imaginable: a jewel-encrusted cor...

'Bones': What to Expect During the 2nd Half of Season Eight

1/13/2013 11:08am EST
Like most of the best shows, "Bones" went on a holiday hiatus while the rest of the world indulged in fruitcake and put up with noisy relatives. Then, like the holidays themselves, TV schedules give way to getting back on a routine, meaning we go back to watching "Bones." And, just in case all of that holiday booze went to your head, here are some of the things to remember about the show before it went on break and what you can expect now that it's back.

The Ghost

The half-season's last episode wasn't the tongue in cheek flirty fare that we're used to when watching "Bones." Instead it w...

5/10/2012 8:36am EDT
J.J. Abrams' prison drama Alcatraz has been axed after just one season on air.

The show, starring Sam Neill and Lost's Jorge Garcia, was based around San Francisco's legendary Alcatraz prison and focused on the mysterious reappearance of prisoners and guards who vanished from the island jail in the 1960s.

Nevertheless, fans won't get to see a second season after bosses at the Fox network pulled the plug on the show this week.

Fox chiefs have also axed Bones spin-off The Finder, but they renewed Kiefer Sutherland's TV drama Touch for a second series, according to

Emily Deschanel Talks Real-Life Pregnancy & Pregnancy On 'Bones'

9/17/2011 12:00pm EDT
Emily Deschanel Fit Pregnancy
If Emily Deschanel’s character on the Fox TV series Bones, Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan, is decidedly awkward socially, Deschanel is anything but.

An outspoken vegan committed to animal-protection organizations like Farm Sanctuary, Deschanel, 35, and her husband, actor/writer David Hornsby, are expecting their first child this fall. (As you might be able to tell from their similarly striking blue eyes, her sister is actress-singer Zooey Deschanel.)

Season Finales: The Good And The Bad

5/31/2011 1:22pm EDT
The Good Wife
Another television season has come and gone with the usual blitzkrieg of shocking deaths, double-crosses, surprise pregnancies, and aggravating cliffhangers. It was a varied batch of season finales: some were amazing; others were lackluster; and a few finales left me counting the jumping sharks. I can’t watch every finale, but here’s a sampling of the awesomely good and the appallingly bad.

Let’s break it down.

The Good:

“The Good Wife” CBS

Julianna Margulies is fantastic as Alicia Florrick, the scorned wife trying to rebuild her life after her husband’s famed infidelities. The seco...

But sometimes they are so disappointing and unbearable to watch, viewers would rather forget about them than to remember their horrible plots or storylines. Here are a list of season finales that have left viewers scratching their heads and trying to figure out what they just watched.

'Castle' Recap: 3x20 - 'Slice Of Death' Combines Pizza, Drugs And Film Noir

4/5/2011 2:07pm EDT
“Slice of Death” opens with a body reveal worthy of Bones. A man and woman stumble into a restaurant, kissing passionately. The woman squeals a requisite “I have to tweet this” to inform us that the man she’s currently making out with is some sort of celebrity. She refers to him as “Terrific Nick,” but he corrects her: “Authentic Nick.” Seeing as this is New York, they can only be one place: a pizza restaurant. The girl comments on the (wonderful) smell in the restaurant. They investigate and discover (gross) a body in the pizza oven. Cut to (grosser) Castle frying bacon for Alexis.

10/17/2010 10:30am EDT
Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman was left red-faced at the Environmental Media Awards on Saturday after organizers aired a clip of her singing about recycling when she was just 11 years old.

The actress was presenting a prize at the ceremony in Burbank, California when footage of her as a youngster, dancing and singing about the benefits of recycling, began to roll.

Portman laughed off the embarrassing gag and went on to hand the EMA Corporate Responsibility Award to Jeff Skoll, producer of "The Cove" and environmental movie "The Crazies."

David Boreanaz Thinks His House Is Haunted

9/11/2010 8:00pm EDT
David Boreanaz
David Boreanaz is having trouble sleeping in his new Los Angeles home because he worries it's haunted by ghosts.

The "Bones" star and his actress wife Jaime Bergman bought the house earlier this summer, but the couple is struggling to settle in because their bed mysteriously shifts in the middle of the night.

He explains, "We're not too sure. We woke up in the middle of the night and we heard this big bang. It felt like the bed literally fell off underneath us. My first instinct is, we're having an earthquake... turns out, it wasn't an earthquake. Cut to two weeks later, same thing happen...

What's Back In TV Land: Our Favorite Returning Fall Shows

8/24/2010 4:32pm EDT
Vampire Diaries, CW
It's that time of year again, when we all set our DVRs and get ready for a night in with our favorite returning TV shows! Here's just a few to look forward to when September finally rolls around.

The Vampire Diaries, CW

Thursday, September 9, 8/7c

When "The Vampires Diaries" aired last fall it managed to become much more than just the supernatural "Gossip Girl'' that many had expected. It was a well-written, well-acted series that was intriguing enough to make you want to tune in every week. Its first season was a sexy, violent ride that once a week made the new vampire craze a little...

Syfy's Hit Duo: 'Warehouse 13' and 'Eureka'

8/9/2010 9:28pm EDT
Warehouse 13: In the fist season, the show about two Secret Service agents hunting down artifacts capable of everything from passing through solid objects to seeing the future, really overdid the "will they/ won’t they" relationship between business-like Myka Bering (Joanne Kelly) and free-spirited Pete Lattimer (Eddie McClintock). And yeah, some of you out there are saying "Hey, they stole that from Castle, and Castle stole it from Bones," ignoring that X-Files did the exact same type of relationship and did it much better over a decade before any of them. But, I digress.

My point is that...

She claims Boreanaz's alleged bad behavior included sending "inappropriate text messages," masturbating in front of her and attempting to "kiss her and touch her breasts."

Hagan claims she suffered "emoti...
