NBC Will Not Drastically Change The New 'Jim Rockford' Character

1/12/2010 9:15am EST
Rockford Files
NBC is planning a new series of The Rockford Files, based on the '70s P.I. show starring James Garner. This won't be just your average remake though. David Shore, creator of TV's House, is developing the new Rockford.

"It's just that great character and there isn't that PI character on television right now," said NBC and Universal Media Studios president of primetime entertainment Angela Bromstad at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. "So if we do a creative reinvention of that, with that title, and I don't think there's anyone better to do it than David Shore who creat...

'Grey's Anatomy' Recap: The Becoming

5/9/2008 8:43am EDT
On the latest episode of "Grey's Anatomy" Bailey's got her little kid in the hospital, and he is adorable. Meredith is with her therapist talking about Derek's tongue, which comes off just sounding creepy. The therapist suggests accepting reality as a way to deal with her feelings. They have to deal with another clinical study patient, a soldier with a tumor. The solidier is there with his father and commanding officer, and who shows up but another soldier who happens to be a "friend" of tumor soldier. I think we all know where this storyline will go.

Bailey finds Mark in one of the cl...

Throughout cinematic history, there has been a plethora of actors that, for some reason or another, never become a household name. So here is a cheat sheet of sorts, a brief encyclopedia on "That Guy."

After reading this you can impress your friends! Win the movie game (the one where you name an actor, someone names a film he or she was in, next player names another actor in that film, etc....

2008 TV Wishlist: An End To The Writers' Strike, A Proper Ending For 'Scrubs' & More

1/17/2008 10:01am EST
Desperate Housewives
The new year is usually a time of reflection and resolutions. Instead of reflecting on the past TV season, we make the following wishes for the coming year, some more attainable than others.

1.) An end to the writers' strike - More than anything, let's hope that 2008 brings an end to the writers' strike with a resolution that satisfies everyone's demands. Most of this season's shows are already out of new episodes, and midseason entries like Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles aren't far behind (the show will run out of new episodes March 3). Lost (premiering Jan. 31) will be cut o...

Five Television Remakes We'd Like To See, But Probably Won't

1/14/2008 4:27pm EST
The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.
Ahh, the remake. The feelings that are evoked when you hear that your favorite program from yesteryear is being re-thought, re-vamped and re-launched for the new generation are hard to describe. Sure, remakes are almost inevitably likely to fail, but so what? That doesn't make their possibility any less tantalizing.

TV remakes don't happen often, although when they do they tend to come in waves. The crest of the latest remake wave seems to be ominously hovering right over our heads as recent launches of "Bionic Woman," "American Gladiators" and the soon-to-be debuting "Knight Ride...

Single & Sexy: Top 10 Celebrity Bachelorettes

1/11/2008 3:22pm EST
Megan Fox
In Hollywood there are many attractive, sought-after bachelors (see here). Equally as appealing are the celebrity bachelorettes who take Tinseltown by storm. These women are holding their own in the entertainment industry with much dedication to their craft, independent attitudes and, of course, beauty.

Here are those whom we consider to be the Top 10, in no particular order:

It has been rumored that "Lost" star Evangeline Lilly (28) and her fiancée, co-star Dominic Monaghan, have split. If this is indeed the case, then we're sure Evangeline won't have a problem finding a new bea...

Power Of The Fans: How Enthusiasts Have Saved Their Favorite Shows

1/9/2008 3:02pm EST
Veronica Mars
Every year TV shows come and go, but you don't have to let your favorite show get canceled without a fight. Several series have been saved through fan campaigns, which often include more than just online petitions. From bottles of Tabasco to an air plane banner and thousands of nuts, see how dedicated fans saved their favorite series from being canceled prematurely:

The campaign "Roswell it Hot, Hunger is Not" made over $28,000 for a world famine charity (series star Brendan Fehr's favorite charity). That wasn't the only campaign that saved the ratings-challenged WB series. "...

TV Remakes We'd Like To See, Vol. 1: 'Gilligan's Island'

1/4/2008 8:00pm EST
It seems that these days television has been hurting for some new show ideas, and with recent remakes of old shows like Battlestar Galactica (huge hit!) and The Bionic Woman (tanked!) we thought we'd come up with some of our own ideas for remakes, complete with new casts but the same 'ol plot lines. Well, maybe we'd update the plots to reflect the times...

Gilligan's Island

The old 60s hit show that critics jeered and audiences cheered would make for great TV viewing these days. With reality shows like Survivor and, of course, the short-lived reality series The Real Gilligan's Islan...

2007 TV Year In Review: Top 5 Dramas

12/28/2007 12:00pm EST
Due to the writers strike, many shows stayed on the air this fall even though their ratings were poor. The future doesn't look so good for programs such as Bionic Woman, Journeyman, and K-Ville. There are, however, several dramas that cemented their places in our "must see" lists.

Top 5 Dramas:

5. "Dexter" - While this show has never really delivered on the intimate look into a psychopath that it seemed to promise in its initial previews, it does remain one of the more entertaining pieces of pulp on television. This season saw Dexter's underwater burial ground discovered, causing...

Despite The Strike, TV's Mid-Season Offerings Are Promising

12/19/2007 10:13am EST
American Idol
With DVR "To Do" lists rapidly shrinking as most shows head into reruns and no new episodes in sight, it might seem like there's nothing to watch.

For the next couple of weeks that may be true, but the broadcast networks have rolled out new, strike-edited winter schedules for our viewing pleasure. A multitude of reality shows provide cheap and easy ways to fill in scheduling holes.

Before you groan or let hours of your life disappear while you watch "The Baby Borrowers," take a look at some of the new and returning scripted offerings coming to your television as early as January...

Starpulse TV Season In Review

12/5/2007 9:20am EST
Private Practice
It's been a bumpy television season full of winners, disappointments and a lot of forgetful folks. Some shows stumbled right out of the gate while others took steady steps towards a full-season pickup.

The TV season is nearing the halfway mark when most of the shows go into reruns, an indefinite period of torture this year thanks to the writers' strike. At least the respite provides the perfect time to take a look back at the season so far. This TV season, the TV gods brought us...

The show has run for four seasons and has been renewed for yet another thrilling fifth season. As the team of explorers gets used to their new leader Col. Which New TV Shows Are On The Chopping Block?

10/11/2007 11:21am EDT
We're a few weeks into the new fall season, and I have to say that I am a little disappointed. Many new shows seemed promising, but I just haven't seen one that could be a runaway hit.

After only two weeks into the fall season some are already in danger of being canceled. TV fans should get ready to start campaigning for their favorites before they disappear forever.

The majority of new series have been dropping in the ratings. In fact, none of the new shows have even cracked the Nielsen top 10. However, "Bionic Woman" and "Private Practice" did make it into the top 15.
