Betty Boop debuted in 1930 as a cabaret singer in an animated short. Her high baby voice and curly hair became her trademark. She is also known for the garter she wears on her left leg. During the 60s and 70s her cartoons were revived through showings at college town theaters and psychedelic light shows.
