'Monk' Psychiatrist Stanley Kamel Dies

Actor Stanley Kamel has been found dead of a suspected heart attack. The 65-year-old was reportedly discovered by his longtime agents in his Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday afternoon. Los Angeles emergency services responded to a 911 call made at Kamel's home shortly before 4 p.m.

Kamel is best known for starring in numerous TV shows like The West Wing, Six Feet Under and Beverly Hills, 90210. In recent years he became known as eccentric detective Adrian Monk's psychiatrist in hit show Monk.

'Barney Miller' Star Ron Carey Dies

Actor Ron Carey died on Tuesday of complications from a stroke at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was 71. Carey is best known for his roles on the sitcom Barney Miller and in Mel Brooks films.

Carey began his career as a stand-up comic on talk shows, including those hosted by Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas, Ed Sullivan and Johnny Carson. His most famous role was as detective-wannabe Officer Carl Levitt on "Barney Miller," which ran from 1975 to 1982 on ABC.

'Columbo's' Peter Falk is America's Favorite TV Detective

Peter Falk's famous turn as Lieutenant Columbo is still America's favorite TV detective, according to a new TV Guide poll. The quirky crime solver, which Falk played on TV throughout the 1970s and again recently in a one-off special, beat obsessive compulsive detective Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) and Twin Peaks' resident snoop Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle Maclachlan) to claim the top spot on the new list.
