Chelsea Handler, host of ‘Chelsea Lately’ and Executive Producer of NBC’s ‘Are You There? It’s Me Chelsea,’ was the first to appear on Monday, Jan. 23. In response to a question from Howard about Joan’s early critics of Chelsea, Handler replied, ‘Joan Rivers...What the **#! do I care about Joan Rivers?’ ‘**#! off!,’ the late night host added.

Chelsea Handler On Playing Her Own Sister And Giving Up Vodka (Not Really)

NBC’s new comedy Are You There, Chelsea? is based on Chelsea Handler’s memoirs, including Are You There Vodka, It’s Me, Chelsea. Chelsea Handler does not play herself. She cast herself as her sister, named Sloane one the show but not in real life.

“We had to change the name for legal reasons so my own family can’t sue me,” Handler told the Television Critics Association on Friday. “It’s a pleasure to play my sister because everything I’ve been accusing her of is brought to life before her eyes.”

Roseanne Barr To Make TV Comeback In Chelsea Handler Series

Roseanne Barr is returning to TV comedy - as funny woman Chelsea Handler's aunt.

Barr has joined Laura Prepon in the TV sitcom adaptation of Handler's book "Are You There Vodka, It's Me, Chelsea."

Prepon will play Chelsea Hanson - a character based on Handler - in the series.

She's not the only former "That 70's Show" star returning to a starring role on TV; Ashton Kutcher has signed on to replace Charlie Sheen in sitcom "Two and a Half Men."

NBC just introduced its 2011-12 primetime schedule, showcasing six new dramas and six new comedies from a roster of renowned hitmakers that includes Steven Spielberg, Lorne Michaels, Brian Grazer, Tom Werner, John Grisham and Peter Berg, among many others.
