There's No Place Like Home
Elizabeth surprises herself when she reacts unfavorably to Loren's pursuit of J.D.; Loren finds Damian's sudden interest in her social life jarring; Lionel makes J.D. a generous offer in order to keep him close to the family and Elizabeth; Agent Hopkins receives a warning from a little boy who was prompted to do so by a mysterious man.
Guerillas in the Mist
Damian receives a violent warning from the mysterious man, the world's most powerful arms dealer named Carlos, who is concerned about Richard's contact with Agent Hopkins. Meanwhile, Lionel and Richard confer over the exchange with the people holding Elizabeth for ransom, but Damian overhears their plans, which involves cooperation with the CIA; Jordan stuns Michael and Loren with news that she and Lionel are reuniting.
Jordan overhears Lionel's plans to change his will and makes a play towards healing old wounds in the marriage, if only to help herself; Damian raises some eyebrows when he refuses to meet Elizabeth upon her return; Richard gets some information that implicates Damian in the plane crash; Agent Hopkins receives a threatening letter; Elizabeth has an encounter with a drunken Damian upon her return home. He tells her that Lionel's favortism of her will be her undoing; Damian meets Sally's sister, Serena, and becomes smitten; J.D. dreams of Elizabeth.
J.D. and Elizabeth scrap to stay alive in the jungle, on the run from her captors; Loren learns that Sally has died and tries to reach out -- physically -- to Parker, her dream man, but he rejects her; arms dealer Carlos pays Damian a direct visit and provides him with a visceral warning; J.D. and Elizabeth are finally rescued.
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
Elizabeth goes to J.D., just as he predicted. But instead of professing her love, she reveals to him that she is with another man; Jordan moves back into the mansion; Hopkins formulates a plan to use J.D. to get in close with Lionel and funnel intel back to the CIA; Damian continues to put the moves on Serena; Hopkins' superior appears to be working with Cortez; Lionel returns to work; Loren is rejected by the man she wants; Loren changes her career plans. Now she wants to become a singer. She's terrible, of course.
Jordan makes a scene at dinner, despite Lionel's insistence she be on her best behavior; Hopkins is urged to back off investigating her husband's death from a superior at the FBI; Matthew confronts Damian after he kisses Serena on the hand, leading to a huge brawl; Loren denies Jordan's offer to help her reform her image, leading to a huge brawl; Elizabeth sends mixed signals regarding her attraction to J.D.; Richard advises Lionel that another attempt on his life will be made.
Lion King (Pilot)
The Wakefield's are a wealthy family, but their money doesn't cover many unpleasant truths: the youngest daughter, slut girl, is a lush; and the oldest son has an axe to grind with his old man. He takes matters into his own hands by arranging for the Wakefield's private plane to go down over Martinique, hoping to kill his dad and his dad's favorite child, the eldest daughter, Elizabeth. But the plan doesn't go smoothly, and it's only Elizabeth who winds up stranded in the jungle, along with one of the plane's pilots, named J.D. Meanwhile, government agents suspect Lionel's company is supplying arms to South American guerilla armies; Loren sleeps around; and, Lionel suffers a heart attack after arguing with Damian.
Agent Koris is nearly taken out by one of Cortez's men; J.D. and Elizabeth have an uncomfortable encounter at a bar; Damian bests Jordan during the closing of a deal; Hopkins shows J.D. surveillance footage of someone tampering with J.D.'s plane right before takeoff.
Damian gets taken prisoner and meets the man who is really calling the shots when it comes to the arms deals, who makes him an offer. Meanwhile, J.D. and Elizabeth continue to dance around their obvious feelings for each other; Hopkins enlists J.D.'s aid to help figure out what's going on at Lionel's company; Hopkins and Richard find a link between the arms dealers and EIG; and, Hopkins finds her co-worker Alex searching through her apartment.
Lionel all but disowns Damian right before hiring his own people to search for the missing Elizabeth. Meanwhile, Elizabeth and J.D. flirt; Elizabeth is captured by guerillas and held for ransom; Jordan Wakefield arrives with some troublesome news for Damian: she, as Lionel's wife, gets to run the company during his convalescence; Damian feigns contrition as a way of falling back into his father's good graces.
Serena and Matthew go out to dinner together, and he learns that Damian had a secret relationship with her deceased sister. Meanwhile, Elizabeth and JD participate in a photo shoot aimed to recreate their jungle adventure; Damian is returned to the mansion and must answer questions about his business dealings. He brings up a convenient lie to shield himself from the questioning: he's using drugs again and needed to go to rehab; Damian, with Cortez's help, is going to hire a hitman to kill Lionel; and, somebody breaks into JD's office and knocks him out.
Damian wants Elizabeth taken care of before her 25th birthday; Hopkins discovers that she's being spied on, but her investigation into the matter causes her to be demoted and transferred to a low-level CIA position. Meanwhile, Lionel makes JD an offer to finance his new company; and, Damian discovers that Lionel has cut him out of the will.
Lions and Tigers and Bears
Matthew has trouble with his family's turmoil and resorts to drinking to dull the pain; Wakefield's man Richard goes to Agent Hopkins for help in looking for Elizabeth; J.D. formulates a plan to rescue Elizabeth from her captors; the Wakefield's receive the ransom demands; Lionel is willing to risk his family's fortune to free Elizabeth; Damian receives a threatening phone call.
Kenny meets Hopkins and finds her irresistible; Loren continues to gear up for a singing career; Hopkins learns that Damian wants to kill his father. When Richard confronts Lionel with this information, he has another cardiac episode. Meanwhile, Jordan takes a position with the company as well as Damian's office; Serena receives flowers from Damian; Loren asks Serena about her shoes and learns that even though they look expensive, they are quite affordable, thanks to the Payless Designer Collection; J.D. and Elizabeth meet up at a bar.
Crash and Burn
Elizabeth and J.D. try to survive in the jungle without killing each other first; the family tries to figure out what to do about a search and rescue mission, but Damian takes matters into his own hands and calls off the search for the crashed plane. Meanwhile, Agent Hopkins learns of the Wakefield's company having ties with a mythical South American gun runner named Carlos.
Loren informs Damian of her intentions to start a modeling agency; and, Damian kills Sally for talking about Carlos to anyone within ear shot.
Damien brings a bomb to Elizabeth's birthday party. Agent Hopkins comes to Squirrel to get information on his bomb and from what he tells her she believes the bomb is for Elizabeth. She gets JD to take her to the party. Loren sings for Elizabeth. Hopkins tries to go through the presents, but is interrupted. Later, Loren goes through the presents and nearly opens the bomb, but Solomon stops her. But when she rejects his affections, he rapes her.
Proof of Life
Loren hires Sally's sister Sarina as her new assistant; Sally reveals to Loren that she's sleeping with Damian, causing Loren to beat her up.
Hold on for One More Day
Loren confesses to Serena that she's in love with Parker; Jordan and Lionel's dinner date gets conjugal, but the flingy veneer of their hookup is shattered when Jordan mentions that she's ovulating. Then, she makes a joke about his heart condition that causes him to suspect that she's trying to kill him. He enlists Richard's aid in investigating his own company, to either disprove or verify Agent Hopkins' claim that his company is involved in illegal arms deals. Meanwhile, Lionel invests in J.D.'s company, which will screw up one of Demian's arms deals; J.D. and Elizabeth are interviewed about their experience with the plane crash and the guerillas, but the reporter is more interested in their romantic relationship; Demian tries to undermine his father by planting seeds of doubt in J.D.'s mind about his new investor; Hopkins gives Richard a report that reveals the plane's engine was pre-programmed to shut down during the flight.
The Wakefield's are shocked by Elizabeth and J.D.'s photo shoot and Damian sees it as an opportunity to drive a wedge between them with Parker; Hopkins and Kenny have a surprisingly good time while waiting for J.D. to recover from his head injury. Meanwhile, sensing an opening, Loren makes a play for Parker; and, Kenny gets kidnapped.
