What To Watch: Viewers Finally Learn Which ‘Glee’ Cast Member They Will Say Goodbye To Forever (May 15-21, 2011)

May 15th, 2011 11:15am EDT
The number one thing you need to watch this week is “Glee” because after months of speculation, viewers will finally find out which cast member they will say goodbye to forever. That’s right; in case you haven’t heard, one of McKinley High’s own will face an unexpected loss. Cast and crew have been tight-lipped about who is dying, but viewer guesses include Sue’s sister, Puck and Quinn’s daughter, or Kurt’s dad. Of course, this doesn’t mean it couldn’t be one of the regular cast members; ugh, I cringed at the thought!

Anatomy Of A TV Season: The Hits & Misses

April 15th, 2011 12:00pm EDT
Kathy Bates
It’s almost May Sweeps, and season finales will be upon us faster than the networks can cancel soaps. Let’s break it down, network by network, of what succeeded – and what flopped – this TV season.

NBC

Let’s start with the weakest network. After the ‘Jay Leno Show’ debacle last season, NBC is still scrambling to find original programming that will net decent ratings.

‘Law & Order: Los Angeles’ has proved a disappointment, as evidenced by its massive overhaul and return to floundering ratings. The comedy ‘Outsourced’ is on the bubble, and shows such as ‘Chase’ and ‘Undercovers’ bombed ...

This week’s episode of “America’s Next Top Model” featured the infamous makeover segment, in which the remaining 11 contestants were subjected to—gasp!—haircuts, dye jobs, and the always dreaded weave. However, one model received a particularly horrible makeover during Episode 3, possibly one of the worst to-date in ANTM history.

As usual, the show opened up with a bit of interaction at the Top Model house, specifically girls complaining about how insufferable Alexandria is. However, when the girls discovered a pull rope in the living room, which released a chart of vague descriptions of m...

In my mind, there are four kinds of reality TV. There are the competition shows (“Top Model,” “The Apprentice” and “Project Runway”), personality/family shows (“Jersey Shore,” “Real Housewives” and “Sister Wives”), home improvement shows (pretty much everything on HGTV) and occupational shows (pretty much everything on TLC). Some of these shows are trashy, some are inspiring, and they are all, to some degree, entertaining.
