The models spend a day getting makeovers with hair stylist Laurent D and fashion photographer Troy Jensen. Then guest fashion stylist Lori Goldstein dresses the girls in couture gowns for their next photo shoot, leading to a few breakdowns. And one model gets on everyone's nerves.
The models are surprised by the use of fire in their next runway challenge. Next, they work in teams of two to shoot a coffee commercial with Francesco Carrozzini. Then, Carrozzini joins the judges to decide who has to leave.
The models have to write, direct, and star in their own cosmetics commercial. Tensions flair when one model reads another's diary. And the girls don Rachel Zoe garments and pose with wild animals.
Tyra helps each girl discover their unique "fashion archetype," then takes them to the Century City Mall for a challenge. At the photoshoot, the girls pose wearing almost nothing but mud, and supermodel Sonia Dara helps determine who's going home.
The girls pose for Ford's "Warriors in Pink" campaign, and compete to appear in a national print ad. Then the models head to Universal Studios where they pose for film-inspired photos. Later at the judges panel, one girl has a total meltdown
Tyra teaches the girls about building a portfolio, then the girls head to a landfill where they don eco-friendly couture for a photo shoot with Nigel. Lana Marks joins the judges to decide which girl will be sent packing.

The girls arrive in Morrocco and have a chance to explore the city. A model has an emotional breakdown when a designer has no clothes that fit her figure. A model is scolded for trying to direct a photo shoot, and another struggles to overcome body image issues.
