ABC's "V" is finally here, one of the most highly anticipated shows of the season, and it is coming out strong. The show is a remake of a sci-fi miniseries that lost a great deal of its popularity once it turned into a regular TV show. It looks like ABC hopes to reboot and renew the fanbase, so everyone who loves Nazi-like reptile aliens with a secret plan to take over the Earth ... be prepared. The Visitors are here.

Science fiction has taken somewhat of an upward turn in recent years, becoming attractive to more than the small cultish fan groups and growing to the universal mainstream.

With the success of shows like "Lost," "Fringe," "Heroes," "Battlestar Galactica" and "X-Files," sci-fi is steadily becoming worth investing in by the bigger networks.

Starting in the fall, ABC is releasing two new big sci-fi shows to the mainstream to see if we have a taste for it, and if you're any kind of sci-fi fan at all, these are the new shows you should be looking forward to.

On July 11, 2004, a six part miniseries named The 4400 aired its first episode on the USA network, and it quickly grew a small but enthusiastic group of loyal fans.
