ABC's "V" is finally here, one of the most highly anticipated shows of the season, and it is coming out strong. The show is a remake of a sci-fi miniseries that lost a great deal of its popularity once it turned into a regular TV show.

Science fiction has taken somewhat of an upward turn in recent years, becoming attractive to more than the small cultish fan groups and growing to the universal mainstream.

In Crossing Jordan, a brilliant Boston-based medical examiner tended to rub her superiors the wrong way with her feistiness and insubordination, but her expertise and persistence inevitably proved to be indispensable to Beantown's coroner's office. Season one is now on DVD. Also in stores: season four of The 4400 and season eight of Bewitched.

The IGN theater at New York City Comic Con was bursting on Sunday, April 20, with two kinds of people: Those who were there to talk about "Moonlight" and those who were waiting for it to be over for "Harold & Kumar."

There's plenty to watch on network television, but we have long been living in the Golden Age of Cable. Ever since HBO told us, "It's not TV. It's HBO," we've been hooked. Ponying up the money for cable can be difficult, but these channels make it worth the price.

Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) is sitting anxiously in an emergency therapy session with Dr. Kroger late at night and is talking about a possible murder suspect who stuffed his own mother's corpse in order to keep her with him. Monk points out to Kroger that he never did that with his beloved wife Trudy. Roughly quoted, Dr. Kroger responds sincerely "No, you didn't, Adrian, and I've always been proud of you for that."

On July 11, 2004, a six part miniseries named The 4400 aired its first episode on the USA network, and it quickly grew a small but enthusiastic group of loyal fans. The mysterious sci-fi drama was filmed in Vancouver with a large cast of relative unknowns, and the miniseries turned into a full series, airing four seasons before it was announced in December that "The 4400," along with another USA Sci-fi show "The Dead Zone," was canceled.
