Alec Baldwin has vowed never to sweep his wife Hilaria off her feet on the red carpet again after she reprimanded him for a wardrobe slip-up at Cannes.

The actor decided to pick the pregnant yoga teacher up as part of a photo opportunity for the media at the recent film festival - but Hilaria was not amused by the public display of affection.

"I offered NBC to cut my pay 20% in order to have a full 7th and 8th seasons of 30 Rock," he said. "I realize times have changed. I am looking forward to some time off."

TV bosses at NBC have confirmed reports that hit comedy 30 Rock is to end after one more season.

NBC president Robert Greenblatt announced the official news during a press conference on Monday.

He said, "I know Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and the rest will deliver some of their best work. We think the world of Tina and hope she will be in the NBC family for years to come."

30 Rock has been a critical hit since it first aired in 2006, and the show and its stars have won a string of Emmy and Golden Globe awards.

Yesterday NBC announced its 2012-13 primetime schedule, which includes several new comedies and a few more dramas.

Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, explained, "We've taken a few first steps toward a turnaround over this past season and now we're seeing a real opportunity to accelerate that process. We've got a lineup of new shows that will really get people to sit up and take notice.
