Birth Name: Karlie Kloss
Born: 08/03/1992
Birth Place: Chicago, Illinois, USA

When she was still a teenager, Karlie Kloss was named one of the top models of the 2000s. By the time she reached the age of 20, her star moved even higher, signing as a Victoria's Secret Angel in 2013. Kloss began her career modelling for fashion magazines, but soon became a regular on the catwalk where her distinctive self-described "moody gait" and tall frame meant she was constantly in demand. Karlie went on to become a popular host on MTV and employed another of her interests, baking, for a good cause when she introduced a charitable line of cookies whose profits helped provide meals for hungry children.

Born in Chicago in 1992, Karlie's family moved to St. Louis when she was 2 years old. After training as a ballerina, Karlie was discovered at a charity fashion show at a St. Louis shopping mall in aid of a friend who was fighting cancer. After beginning her career with a cover and layout for the Chicago magazine Scene in 2006, she went on to be photographed by the famed Bruce Weber for Abercrombie and Fitch's 2008 campaign. Karlie's classically trained poise, as well as her 6'1" height, meant she was a natural for the runway; in 2008, she appeared 31 times at New York Fashion Week before moving on to the catwalks of Paris and Milan.

Originally signed to Elite, Karlie moved to NEXT Model Management in 2008 and found herself at the center of a legal wrangle over alleged "improper compensation" that was eventually settled out of court. She signed with IMG Models in 2012. Karlie appeared in numerous advertisements for fashion lines Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, and Yves St. Laurent, as well as German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz. In 2010 she appeared as herself in an episode of the popular TV series "Gossip Girl" (The CW 2007-12) and in 2011 made her first appearance at the Victoria's Secret fashion show modelling the teen-aimed Pink line.

In 2012 Karlie co-hosted a revival of MTV's popular fashion show "House of Style" with Joan Smalls. She was named a Victoria's Secret Angel in 2013, causing a minor sensation when it was reported that the lingerie line had paid thousands of dollars for hair extensions after Karlie had her hair shortened to a bob for a Vogue shoot. Also in 2013 she launched Karlie's Kookies -- a no added sugar, gluten- and dairy-free recipe -- in conjunction with New York restaurant Momofuku Milk Bar, with profits earmarked to provide school meals for hungry children throughout the world. In April of that year, she acted as red carpet host for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards pre-show.
